What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
I have gotten a great deal out of my college experience. I obtained a quality education and made life-long friends. It was valuable to attend because I believe that a person can never be too educated. I have several degrees and with each one, I learned new things, met new people, and bettered myself in general. I have been able to use my education to receive several promotions and greater responsibilities at work. I have also earned respect from my peers as a result of my education.

I would consider the best thing about my school to be the fact that they accepted all of my credits from my technical college as transfer credits, so I did not have to re-take or pay to test out of a class. This really saved me a lot of time and money....so thank you for that :)

I believe I was prepared for most aspects of Anderson University. Through multiple visits, orientation, and "Welcome Week," I was ready to deal with the new environment I had become submerged in. I do wish, however, that I could have foreseen the academic rigors of AU. I was involved in all Honors classes in high school, and I do feel like I was more prepared than some students, but I wasn't really aware of how incredibly rigorous my courses at Anderson would be. I appreciate the strong academics of AU, though, and know they will be worth it.

North Carolina A&T State University is the greatest institution on earth and I wouldn't trade my experience here for anything in the world!

Franklin University is a school of acceptance and discipline. It is a university of high intelligence to which is demonstrated through each and every staff member and passed on to students. My first impression of Franklin was how knowledgeable every staff member was. Any question I had could be answered by one person. They are very organized with their course curriculum and have proven to stay committed to their students. Their online and on-campus programs are growing rapidly. Although most people would rather on-campus courses to have that ‘hands-on’ concept, online courses teach you much more than the course material. They teach you self-discipline, time management, and how to juggle school and what card life deals you. It teaches you to take it one day at a time. Life is a daily struggle, but Franklin University offers assistance to help one deal with those struggles, one step at a time. I speak so highly about Franklin because they have helped me mature into the college student I always wanted to be; dedicated, professional, and diverse. I have recommended my sisters and friends to enroll at Franklin to achieve that void that I felt for some time. That feeling of being a student forever. They have afforded me the opportunity to fulfill my goal of attaining my degree and that I can continue learning through my profession. Their programs have helped me mentally, emotionally and physically. I was given the chance to be working a professional and diligent student. I am proud to graduate from an institution with such determination and opportunity.

I guess the most common stereotype would be that Franklin is for "old" people. But it is actually for people who have to balance work and family life, on top of getting a degree to further or switch their careers. Franklin is for anyone looking to work hard and be professional. If you want to play games, Franklin is not the place for you. My mentally is work hard now and play later. My 'play' time will be Sept 9, 2012 when I graduate. and I know in the end it was all worth it. I was able to work two jobs and go to school full time to allow me to finish my degree quicker, something I wasn't able to do at my other institution. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA my whole time at Franklin and hope to graduate with honors..

I would consider the worst thing about my school is the fact that they have proctored tests. I understand the reasoning behind it but the whole point of online schooling is that it is more convenitent, I found nothing about proctored tests convenient. There were many times when my proctor forgot about me coming to take my test so had been gone when I got there and there were sometimes problems with the Student Learning Center sending my test to the wrong proctor. Most of the time it went smoothe, but those few times really ruined the experience for me.

The military friendly environment. The University understands the requirements placed on military service members and work hard in allowing flexibility for these men and women to earn their degree. The standards to obtain the degree is not compromised and they work hard to assist in helping the member toward career progression.

The size of the classes and the student to professor ration. having a lower ratio allows a "non-traditional" learner such as myself the opportunity to ask questions and seek assistance when needed. You are not lost in the crowd as you would be on a larger campus. When you have been out of college as long as I have been, that is very important to be successful in your studies.

The instructors are qualified people with a vast experience. They ensure that what they teach applies to the outside world. This makes the education relevant to students when they go to work in the outside world. There are several tests as the classes go on. This ensures that the students don't drag behind.
