The worst thing about my school was the lack of respect that it got when compared to the other schools in the University of Maryland System. We are on-par with the flagship university(UMD), in terms of education offered.
The worst thing about my school would have to be the environment. There's not much to do out there.
To me the worst thing is the rural environment. I'm not used to the rural environment, I've lived in the urban city environment my whole life. I personally believe that there's nothing much to do around campus, although there's so much you can do on campus. Also, I am a big fan of the ethnically diverse environment, unlike in Frostburg where it's nowhere near as diverse as where I come from.
the school is isolated in a town without many activities nearby.
The worst thing about my school is that if you are not either on a sports team or in a fraternity of sorority, it is very difficult to make friends.
The University has a bad rap for being a party college and it is well earned. You are able to get the education if you are a serious student but you really have to want it. When I went I had problems in one of my classes and went to my professor and didn't get any help. Went to my advisor same result. I ended up dropping that class and changing my major completely. I needed that class as a base class. If you don't know it going in you may never know it.
Frostburg State University is a great educational school with a lot of fun people. The school though can become quite boring, because the school is up in the mountains with little around it. Also, the school tends to get cold. The high altitude and being in the mountains contributes to the weather being cold and wet.
drinking and mountains
The worst thing i consider about my school would be the weather. Being located in the mountains the weather is very unpredictable. but i have learned to adjust to the weather changes
The area where it is located
The worst thing about my school is probably the distance between any actual entertaining places, such as the mall or a nice state park. If you do not have a car you will have to take the shuttle or ask a friend for a ride which can sometimes be hard.
The weather can get a little harsh in the winter.
Frostburg's reputation is one that is not entirely indicative of the reality. It is known as a party school, and while a good number do spend a considerable portion of their time drinking, it is no more than on any othe college campus. The school does not condone drinking on campus and is a serious learning institution.
The weather is the worst. It is very cold, snowy and rainy. We rarely miss class in snowy conditions.
Its in the middle of nowhere and it snows alot.
The worst thing about my school is that it's in such a very conservative area. I consider myself a liberal for the most part, and small towns are really not the place for liberals.
Not all of the dorms have air conditioning. Honestly, thats not even that bad because it really doesn't get too hot here. But that is all that I could think of.
The worst thing is professors that turn you away from programs that you are interested in rather than encouraging you to pursue your dreams. Also, certain departments and professors simply won't reply or help you if you have questions about a program, or worse, they will discourage you from trying it.
