Gannon has great academics and professors that are usually there to help you learn. One of the worst things about this school is the fact you take so many liberal arts classes. I do not think my courses should be 90{6f65e1278338a62264eed73e2adc5af8e2841420db12ceb4f80b8db22f3260ec} required ones that I do not want to be in. I also think that there is not enough things happening on campus.

Megan

I love everything about Gannon. We have such wonderful academic and social environments, that everyone can feel at home. The academics can be challenging, but it. The programs Gannon offers are incredible and I’m so proud to say I go to Gannon and am enrolled in the accelerated physician assistant program.

All throughout high school, I was sure that I wanted to attend a huge university. The more people, the more chances I have to make friends, right? So, when I decided on coming to Gannon, I was a bit wary of how small it was. Fortunately, I had nothing to worry about. The small campus suits me. Learning in a classroom of thirty students rather than hundreds is a major advantage. The professors truly do know you by name, and they are willing to help at any time. The size of the school does not at all indicate its resources either. We have great opportunities for research and study abroad, two things I am extremely interested in. As far as the student body goes, I was so surprised to learn how diverse Gannon is. Last graduation, about 26 different countries were represented! Being Indian myself, I was a bit self-conscious about whether I would stick out like a sore thumb here at Gannon, and I am so happy to say that I am only one small part of an exceptional international community. The only downside to Gannon is the location of the campus itself. While some areas of Erie, PA are certainly safe, other areas can be of concern. As you get to know the area, it gets better, but it is still important to walk with others late at night and always be aware of safety. Also, if you hate the cold, Gannon may not be the place for you. The snow and cold are elevated due to our close proximity to Lake Erie, but on the other hand, Lake Erie sunsets are some of the most beautiful sights you'll ever see.

Katelyn

It is a fun campus in a great location in downtown Erie. It became almost a second home to me, and there is nowhere else I'd rather be

  3. What kind of person should attend this school?

I would recommend that all person, equally, should consider Gannon University for the Undergraduate or Graduate education. I can only speak for the Undergraduate academics, as I will be graduating in May 2010, but it was from this impetus that I chose to change my major from History (something I thought would never happen). Now, as a Philosophy major (with minors in History and Theology), I would credit the outstanding faculty for my growing desire to teach. I am proud to have attended Gannon University, and I highly recommend it to any student considering a college education.

  6. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

i don't know what the worst thing about my school would be. i would have to say that i was surprised at how many parties they have going on during the weekends, and pretty much any time. that is one thing that is not so great. but the worst thing would probably be that if you go right outside of the campus you are not in the best area to be walking alone. sometimes it can even be kind of intimidating.

  7. Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

Gannon University has a very unique campus setting. I loved the way the campus is very clean and the grounds of the campus are well maintained. I chose Gannon over the other colleges I considered because it has a very strict Physician Assistant program which is ultimatley the program i want to get into. Another reason I chose Gannon was because the class sizes are not very big and you have the opportunity to talk to professors about questions you may have. I really like the fact that the professors are so helpful and you arn't just a number.

  12. What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

I like to say that Erie is the perfect city for me when it comes to obtaining an education. Everything is within walking distance, including the Bayfront. I like to tell my friends about my sorority life and that I never in my life expected to have any sort of leadership position within the Greek System, and now I find myself being the Member-At-Large, which is a huge responsibility that I am willing to fulfill.

  13. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

The meal plans are the most frustrating thing. The amount of money given to use out of the caffateria is no where near enough to get an equivalent meal. And the food isn't that fantastic to only be giving us $5.00 to use outside of the caf. The staff is also grumpy most days which is kind of depressing when you go to get a meal and get barked at for it.
