What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Make sure you visit them campus and talk to the students who go there not the someone who is paid to make the college seem desireable. Decide early on what your major will be this ensures that you wont take unneccessary classes. College can be very expensive so save money on the small things especially books. These can be bought much cheaper from fellow students and online as well.

What kind of person should not attend this school?

A liberally minded person looking at college as a place to party.

No Drinking. Period. Even after you are 21. Even if you are a responsible drinker. Lifestyle Contract (no drinking, smoking, cohabitation, sex, etc) Community! Be excited and know if you are ready. Do NOT go away to college if you would prefer to travel, work, or take a year off school... that is not lame! It is healthy to need a break and you might get a lot more out of your school academically and socially if you are well prepared. Get ready for amazing times - school is hard and the tests/papers kill you but if you can find a way to BALANCE everything will be ok.... sometimes (always, actually) people come before academics. Live with fun people - no one likes a debbie downer

What kind of person should attend this school?

I would say that a person who is interested in getting to know a lot of people and wants to join in an active community. George Fox is very faith-based and a person going to Fox would most likely feel a bit out of place if they did were not interested in spirituality as chapel is mandatory. You will get a lot of out Fox if you are prepared for a challenging, rewarding, intimate (you only have 10 ppl in class as a jr/senior) academic life!

Finding the right college is quite a process, you have to look at all of the aspects of the college on paper and online, but you also must visit any colleges that you are thinking seriously of attending. Another very important thing for me, was praying about it. God knew where He wanted me for school, and I needed to seek His wisdom in this situation. When you go to school, you must make the most out of your college experience. I have been told that college is the best 4 years of your life, so you have to milk it while you are there. You do this by getting involved in your school, making a lot of friends, and actually going to your classes, studying, and trying really hard because, after all, you and your parents are paying BIG BUCKS for you to go there.

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

Being in little tiny Newberg, Oregon, there is kind of this bubble that we have that "protects" us a little bit from the world around us, and we aren't really exposed to a lot of the real world. However, I think we get enough of the real world on campus.
