Its an average school that wouldn't have attracted anyones' attention if it wasn't positioned so close to Washington D.C. –– for if you didn't know is a great place for internships and jobs. Most people that go only do for so because of the connections and location, in addition, one can say for the avaibility of in-state tuition.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

At George Mason University, a student is provided with a variety of opportunities both in academics and extracurricular activities. The academic setting is highly competitive, and so every student is motivated to seek out all available resources, including office hours of professors, the library, and his/her own notes, to maximize the learning experience. Moreover, the diversity of the student body is highly engaging for those who enjoy the social life, as every student has a unique background and life story to tell!

What is your overall opinion of this school?

At first, I didn't think I would like George Mason. It seemed like a good school, and they offered a great financial aid package. However, after my first semester, I've fallen in love with everything it has to offer. Everyone on campus is extremely welcoming, from staff to peers. Fenwick (the library) is a go-to for study groups, and the Johnson Center (the JC) is great for club meetings or just meeting up with friends. I've met great friends, and I'm already making wonderful connections. Its suburban campus makes me feel at home

George Mason University has been a dope experience so far. I am a first year student and I have had a ton of fun while at school. The academics are not too challenging, student involvement is a big part of the school and everyone seems to be friendly and ambitious.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Although my stress levels regularly fluctuate due to the rigor of the computer science program, I really enjoy being at George Mason. It's a good school, and I've encountered some great minds here, as well as grown as a person since I've been here. I generally feel safe in the campus' environment.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

George Mason is one of the least intimidating colleges in Virginia; however, that's what makes it a really comfortable school to be at. To elaborate, it only requires a slightly above average GPA to get in the college. Greek life here is not huge, meaning that there isn't pressure on students to solely rely on them for activities and parties. The student body, although a bit quiet and not engaging at first glance, is still very fun and some of the most polite people I've met. Lastly, there are tons of opportunities here for growth and experience. Being in north Virginia, many companies hire students as interns during the many career fairs that take place, giving you a greater chance to being hired and employed after graduating. To take away from the university: The WiFi system is very annoying and is not always reliable, construction is always taking place on campus, there is no football team (though, there is a good amount of support for our basketball team), dining hall food is not that great with a lack of variety between days, and it's hard to receive decent help when dealing with financial/academic aid at times. Overall, the school has a really good focus on academics and the community events on campus also nurture to student needs. It has downsides like all colleges, but I think George Mason is doing a decent job. I would give the college itself a 4/5 rating based on my experience.

I really enjoy the people that make Mason what it is. You'll never find a more accepting and involved school outside of the classroom. The students there as so easy to talk to and will actively engage in a meaningful conversation. The staff treats all of their students with respect and make sure to respond back to them in a reasonable amount of time. The close proximity to Washington D.C. allows those who choose Mason to be a 15-minute ride away from our nation's capital, offering a wild night scene, amazing food, and memorable sites that make the perfect weekend getaway after a rigorous week of classes. I could not have chosen a better school for a vibrant, bubbly, fun-loving person like me! :)

What is your overall opinion of this school?

I absolutely love that George Mason University is very diverse in culture and ethnicity. So many different walks of life are at this college including in the surrounding areas (counties and cities). The academic programs are stellar as well as the interactions with teachers and peers. I would recommend this university to my peers and those I mentor!
