The best thing about George Washington University is that it is a very diverse school. Being in such an important city makes it filled with many different people from all over the world. This makes for an excellent learning enviroment both inside and outside the classroom. For me it was the source of most of my learning.

As a political science major, GWU's location in the heart of D.C., just blocks from the White House and National Mall, allows for unparelled opportunities to see the "real world" while learning about it in a school setting. It is not uncommon for various government officials to guest lecture - because of the proximity. The urban setting of the campus also gives the feeling of being a part of something bigger that I don't think an isolated campus can offer.

The best thing about my school is the diversity. I have met people from all over the world with different backgrounds and different cultures. The plethora of information available not only by the professors or the libraries but by the students at the university is what I think is the best thing about my school.

Tamara

The location. Living in the middle of Washington, DC provides unbelievable interactions, experiences and opportunities.

Leah

GW is very unique because we don't have an average everyday campus. Nope, we are situated about 3 blocks away from the White House smack dab in the middle of D.C. This is a true city school but at the same time maintains a sense of community as well. Although it may be annoying running from class on K Street to class on E Street....you learn the tricks of the trade and find out how to manage city time. This school will make you become an adult much much quicker since it forces you to get out, meet people, and explore the historic scenery surrounding you.

Maxine

The best part about George Washington University is the professors. Every single one I've had will go above and beyond their call of duty. If you are unable to make their office hours, every single one is willing to meet you at another time. If you send them emails, for the most part, they respond right away. The classes also aren't that large, so you get to know the professor better. You aren't just a face to them but real person.

THE BEST THING ABOUT MY SCHOOL WAS THE FACT IT WAS IN DC (WHICH HAS SO MUCH HISTORY, POLITICS AND CULTURE TO OFFER).

Natalie

GWU offers an array of unique opportunities not found at many other universities. Due to our outstanding location, it is commonplace for GWU students to obtain internships and jobs during the school year with many federal agencies, non-profit organizations, coroporations, and other international organizations. Furthermore, GWU benefits from attracting incredible speakers, scholars, and professors who conduct excellent lectures that pertain to our field of study. For example, while I was studying Iran's recent political upheaveal, I had a chance to attend a lecture conducted by Karim Sadjadpour, an expert on Middle Eastern Studies, discussing Iran's political situation.

Mark

The best thing about George Washington University is its location in the nation's capital. Not only is there a omnipresent sense of national pride, but being so close to all this political action provides a plethora of opportunites for interships and valuable jobs. The are is also just quite beautiful. On Saturdays, a group of my friends and I play football in front of the white house, which is three blocks form where I live. It is both an exciting and profound experience.

Rachael

The intellectual beings.

Monica

There are few things that I dislike about The George Washington University. There is always something interesting to do, whether it's jogging along the Potomac or going to a lecture by some of the most prominent politicians in the world. I can safely say that there is no school that I'd rather be attending.

Worlanyo

GWU has great facilities and a great surrounding area. In the heart of North Western DC, its a great place for clubbing and internships.

Monika

The location of GW is the best thing about the school. My freshman dorm was 3 blocks away from the White House; I would go running on the National Mall past all the monuments. It is incredibly inspiring to be here.

Jacqueline

Students who attend GW should want a challenging curriculum in a college with a diverse, cosmopolitan environment. Washington, D.C. is a true melting pot. I love the fact that my college enjoys an excellent academic reputation with lots of activities and opportunities. I sometimes find it hard to fit other activities in, but there is always something available for those times when youare available. I truly love the diversity and opportunities afforded to me at George Washington University.

The George Washington University is located in Washington, DC. In my opinion, this was the best location for anything studying International Affairs, becuase there are so many opportunities such as internships, public lectures, etc. GWU also has exceptional professors, many of them wel-known in their respective careers, and others many lectures and activities outside the classroom to supplement a student's education.

Max

The fact that people are able to find the niches that they want to be part of.

Tommy

Located in the center of Washington, DC, the George Washington University is socially, economically, and politically active. At GWU, every student has a voice about global issues that the society is facing today. Students are welcomed to be diverse and free from any social restrictions without being judged. On any corner of Washington, DC, every person has a different story about how they grew up, what religion they believe, what their sexuality is, and among many other things. GWU being in Washington, DC has a wide variety of students. This is the greatness about GWU: you are who you are.

Lindsey

Washington, DC was currently rated THE most politically active city in the entire world (Foreign Policy Magazine, December 2008). That is why GWU is one of the best places to attend college. Located downtown, we are in the heart of the city and in the middle of everything; when Obama won the election, we were the ones storming the White House that night. Granted, all anyone talks about is politics. But, our interaction with DC is unlike any other university within the District, which allows us to have it all: culture, history, politics, art, and discussion.

The best thing about GW is the location that it is in. Being in Washington DC affords oppurtunities to students, such as myself, to get hands on experience on the material that you study in the classroom.

Christopher

There are truly limitless opportunities both on campus and in the surrounding city. You can get out of it as much (if not more) than you put into it. This is the place to come if you are looking for both career and life experiences.

It's location in DC makes the night life very fun. The small size of the engineering school gives individualized attention and allows for a lot of undergraduate research. Also, the engineering school gives out scholarships to the majority of engineering students.

The best thing about GW are the career related resources you have abailable to you both within the school and in DC itself. There is a real focus at GW on gaining real world experience before graduating. Most students will have completed about 3 internships before graduating.

The academics are the best thing -- GWU has a good reputation for academics and is probably pretty good for getting a job after graduation.

Students at this school have the opportunity to develop the best resumes during college and are in the most prime location for political activism. Overall the location of GW has to be its biggest point of pride.

Sarah

GW is a place of extremes. When a class is good, it's REALLY good. When a club or activity is fun, it's REALLY fun. The problem is that extremes go both ways, so you have to be careful.

Colby

The best thing about my school is the professors that have been in the world before because they teach you from their personal experiances.
