I decided to go to GW because it fit me. GW had everything I was looking for in a university: diversity, size, a great city and programs I was looking for. It just felt right.
GW was my top choice, and the only school I applied to because i applied early decision. That's how confident I was that GW was the right college for me! Originally, I only wanted to be the DC area, but after I visited the school, it was the only place I wanted to be! If you're interested in any school, you should always visit and tour, that way you have a good impression of everything, including the things the books and website don't tell you about!
I decided to attend GW because of its unique location and amazing internship availabilities. Although that sounds super cliche, I grew up in a town that's famous for its pizza and unlimited choices of chain restaurants. I wanted to attend a school where I'd be able to walk 3 blocks away from my door and face something breathtaking. I guess the White House was enough to sell me.
The great location and abundent opportunities to all sorts of internship, student activities, and access to great alumni networking.
I wanted to have all the opportunities living in a city like DC could offer - internships, jobs, networking, events.... As a transfer student, I also was tired of the traditional model of a closed campus, cafeteria everyday, RA looking out for you model (we do have House Mentors and Scholars though).
