I love this school. I have been at the Alpharetta location for three years, and since then we've merged with GSU. This college only offers associate degree programs. I have never had a problem getting know my professors and the staff are lovely. Since we are such a small campus, involvement in sports and recreational activities aren't substantial. However, since we became part of GSU, that has been changing. I would recommend coming here to get your early classes out of the way. We are located near many restaurants and fast food places. That's convenient because the campus does not have a cafeteria. There is no on-campus and off-campus housing, but there are plans for them as we expand. The financial aid office goes above and beyond in helping individuals, and while the bookstore is small, it's homey and comfortable to access. Overall, coming out of high school. This is a great transition school. If you are looking for a big university community, this is not for you. But people are friendly, and classes are small. The education is good. I would recommend it.

Going to a community college automatically makes people assume that I cannot afford a " real education," but at Perimeter I am able to get the same quality education as I would if I attended a university. I am able to take classes where the teacher knows me by name and can take time to explain a concept to me during class if I do not understand. The college is wonderful, but it does have some downsides. Since the college is now apart of Georgia State University, we do not have any sports teams that are just for Perimeter. I don't mind too much, but I do miss being able to go to the softball games that were on the Perimeter campus. Another downside is that they don't have as many class options. For example, for my fall semester I only have one class time option for my chemistry class. I am able to make the time work for me, but it does effect my work schedule. Besides these flaws, the school is a great place to attend.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Georgia perimeter college is a pretty affordable school. It has a great diversity, with a student body from all over the globe. Most of the teachers do their best to make sure the students understand the concepts they are taught. However some of them are very strict on the rules. The best teachers are usually found at the clarkston and dunwoody campus.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Georgia Perimeter College is a good school to ease yourself into college life before transferring to another school to continue your education. There is just enough student activities to keep you interested in the on goings of the school. There are plenty of resources to help you succeed in your classes such as the student tutoring center, internet access all over campus, study groups, teacher office hours, equipment to borrow and more. There are some challenges mainly involving class scheduling, teaching styles, and some of the colleges infrastructure. Sometimes you will have to do some running around to get some simple information or task complete.

It's a good school to start your career in. If you plan on transferring to another school this is the place to go to in Georgia. It currently changed it's name to Georgia State and partnered with that school . The professors are nice, but outside of class help like tutoring depends on the instructor. The food is basically like any college its OK. The campuses are pretty big and for the most part new. I go to the dunwoody campus and it's about 5-15 minutes away depending on traffic. Parking is not free you have to pay for a pass. The library is great, it's especially big in Dunwoody campus. The student life there is not like State colleges though, you have to put yourself out there because most people who go here are very serious about school because they plan on transferring. Tutoring here is not so great, it's free, and the effort is there. They only use one instructor per day, per subject, and that means there will be 10 students asking for help on different areas of the subject maybe getting 5 minutes of tutoring. For the most part you're on your own like any other school. For student life you must make the effort to join. There is no group fairs or anything, you must email the group instructor. There is a great amount of scholarships offered by the same school and it's super easy to get them when you have a great GPA and essay as well as recommendation letters . Remember, regardless of what school you go to your academic success only depends on you.

The kind of people who should not attend Georgia Perimeter College are people who are not ready to get an education or are too busy to put school at the top of their list.

What kind of person should attend this school?

Anybody can attend this school. People that wants to get an association degree can attend this school. People that need help deciding on a major or want to get a college experience can also attend this school

Where is the best place to get work done on campus?

The best place to get work d ok be is the library because it's very quiet and peaceful. The student learning center is also a good place to get work done and ask for help if you need one.
