Georgian Court University is a place where you feel at home and safe because everyone is so welcoming. There is always a new face to meet or a new club to join. With all that is provided to us, with life on and off campus, you feel as if you’re getting the full college experience and there is no better feeling.
Georgian Court is a small yet friendly campus where success and values inside and out of the classroom are emphasize. GCU is not your typical party school, however has some smaller gathering on the weekends. GCU is not big on off-campus trips and does not have a range of places to visit such as small coffee shops etc close by, but is a good choice for someone looking to actually complete their schooling in four years.
The academic department at this school is very well managed. This school does not play when it comes to the books. I really enjoy that because you have no problem getting help with what you don’t understand. Also getting your work done without many distractions is a plus as well. When it comes to having fun we make our own fun when needed. Campus life is a little dry but it’s your decision whether you make your college experience a success.
I like it! I commute, but the drive isn't bad. I am doing very well in classes and like my teachers. I am currently in my second semester of my freshman year and I am loving it so far. As a nursing major, I have to stay on my toes. I study a lot and it really pays off. The work load is not terrible, but you have to stay focused.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Georgian Court University is 74%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
If I could go back in time and talk to myself when I was a high school senior I would tell myself to visit all of my choices for college before making any decisions. It pays off in the end to know what you're getting yourself into. I would also tell myself to apply for three times as many scholarships as I did. College is expensive and any free help needs to be taken.
I feel that the school size is very good
Over all fun, very well organized, all girls university.
Most of my classmates are very nice and interested in learning.
In my opinion my school is best known for its on campus Mansion, which is very beautiful by the way. The fact that we are a small catholic private school and have sisters of mercy living on campus with us.
It is an all girl school and I believe it would be an even better school if it was coed all the time
The students are nice. the professors are amazingly helpful. the staff is also very helful. the campus is beautiful. the classes are small.
The kind of person that should attend this school should be someone who has goals for themselves and is determined. When comming to this school I feel that it is imperative that the student set goals for themselves and have a clear idea of what they want to do in life. If you dont set goals for yourself you dont have anything to aspire to. Also it is important to be determined in order to suceed and see your goals accomplished. Setting goals, determination and a little bit of drive is what any student needs to suceed at this institute.

The campus is beautiful, the classes are small and very personal, and most teachers are proud to take the time to work a little extra with you or just have a professional conversation with you. The faculty here goes the extra mile to help you out, no matter what it is you are going through. And Georgian Court is constantly giving back to the community with charity events and donations of time, money, products, and support, no matter what the cause is.
I wish i had knew that the education is wonderful. i also wished that the campus was so stricted .

None of the stereotypes are accurate. This is not a lesbian school and while I, personally, do feel uncomfortable with lesbian pda just as much as I do straight pda, it's not a big deal. We don't wear uniforms, although you can definitely tell who are commuters and who are residents. The commuters generally dress better for classes, while the residents are almost always in sweats all the time. Men do come to GCU, they just usually show up around 4 for the night classes, as per the rules. They can't sleep over in the dorms but they do show up for our parties. I am a junior and I have only had one nun as a professor--ironically, she was bad.
Heather voices concerns that the plummeting economy is bringing down academic standards in the admissions office. Ashley explains how the government is conspiring with your bookstore and defends work-study as a "real job."
All of my professors know my name. I'm a Communications major, so I have had the same two teachers as far as those classes go. My favorite class is Mass Media and Pop Culture. My professor gives us cool assignments and her tests are easy and she has a great rapport so all that makes for a great class. My least favorite classes were Math and Biology. I had a horrible Math professor who covered herself in chalk and who would ask the class a thousand questions to get to the answer she was looking for when we clearly did not know what she was talking about. She wasn't accommodating at all to the needs of the student either. My biology teacher played favorites and she was just boring--I spent every class (twice a week) on Myspace.
The most popular activities on campus are WILD and SGA. Since there are no sororities or fraternities, getting involved in programs are what will make the experience fun. I'm a commuter, but I have spent time in the dorms and people do generally leave their doors open. There is always the Back Porch Party, which is the thing to go to.
Georgian Court University is best known for being a women's (read: lesbian) college and and education school.
The best thing about GCU is that it really is New Jersey's best kept secret. The campus has the best security--i can walk around (and I have done this) at 2 AM and feel completely secure--you literally have to call in your parents to the security gate. The campus is beautiful and when it snows, it looks just like a Christmas card. The professors actually know you by name and the only time you use your student ID number is when they ask for it in the cafe. I do have to be honest about what I don't like, though. When something is wrong in financial aid, you have to talk to someone at the top to get the situation resolved. They take away some of the scholarships they give you your freshman year when you become a sophomore because you are a sophomore. Financial aid, just like most colleges, is limited and need-based, which is most likely not going to change. Registrar is in one word: inept. It is pretty much the same situation as financial aid and they love to make you jump through a thousand hoops to get what you want. The process is very complicated and you have to make sure to pay attention to the fine print and the asterisks on your progress chart and major requirements.
Honestly th e only thing that bothers me is that they don't have a field hockey team.

All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA. Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
99% of students attending Georgian Court University receive some sort of financial aid. 47% were awarded federal grants. While 81% received federal loans. Many students do also need to apply for additional private student loans.
