Is the stereotype of students at your school accurate?

Simrit

many of them are but there are also many other clubs and organizations (like intermural sports teams that are a big part of the campus) that also exist.

Robin

in some ways yes, in some ways no. some students- who love to show off their social 'status' (for lack of a better description)- can be intimidating. almost 3/4 of campus are involved in greek life.

Every stereotype was true but to a certain extent. Though athletics are a huge part of many students' lives on campus, since it is in fact division three, it allows just as much time to be spent towards academic work. Even though there are a lot of collegiate athletes here on campus, there are hundreds others who participate in the club and intramural sports offered and hundreds others who find the most enjoyment in student-run clubs. In addition, the student body here is more diverse than I expected though there is a solid percentage who do shop at J.Crew only! Thirdly, Greek Life dominates the weekend on campus. If you're not one who wants to join a fraternity or sorority, that's fine. Just keep in mind you may feel excluded from the night life on weekends.

Is some ways, yes, Gettysburg does attract many middle class white people, but never have I once felt like I was out of place. Yes, I am white but I am on almost a full scholarship and am no way in the money bracket as most of my peers. Even if the stereotypes are true when you are different you do not feel out of place. People here are accepting of others. My african american friends have stated the same thing even though they are a clear minority. The feel of Gettysburg is not a feeling of rish white snobbiness, regardless of the appearance.
