What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

I wish that I had known that the professors at Gordon State weren't like high school teachers. I made the mistake of thinking that I could coast through classes with little studying and class participation. At midterm, I quickly tried to change my study habits according to the difficulty of the professor, and I participate in every class by asking questions and volunteering when asked to.

I wish I would have known about the surrounding area. The city of Barnesville is quite boring and usually don't hold many attractions, which leads people to often travel to a nearby metro- area for basic necessities. Also I wish I could have know about the weekends here, they are also very much dead.
