We are a school that is founded on beliefs of peace, justice and reducing conflict. Yet, the student body is still so unconcerned about the day-to-day impact that we have on each other and on the planet. We care about the world outside of our campus, yet fail to recognize the problems occuring within our own institution.
The Goshen student body sums up to about 1000 total kids. At times this is pretty frustrating. Knowing almost everyone gets old pretty quick if you don't feel like you're connecting well. The city is also a issue. Small town cops are awfully fussy over the littlest things and it's easy to rack up fees from both the college and police.

Not havung enough conservatives.
All students have to have some form of a meal plan. This doesn't encourage the food services to try hard to make money, since every student has to buy at least a partial meal plan. However, next year Goshen isn't automatically renewing the contract with Sudexo (the food company). They have heard the student's complaints for long enough! Also the bookstore is very expensive and has almost no hope for competing with online bookstores for textbooks and other classroom materials.
As an institution, Goshen is very open to different cultures and beliefs. However, many students with common political and moral opinions are very outspoken, and weather or not they are the majority often there is a feeling of superiority over opposing sides. Often this leaves me a feeling of being very alone. There are different views on campus, but only one is typically felt to be more ?correct? than others.
