I am an online student but had toured the campus prior to accepting enrollment. Everyone I encountered was amazing, and all my professors have been encouraging. I have only experienced one rotten apple as far as professors goes and have reviewed her already individually. Overall, this school has exceeded my expectations.
Small, really small. Class size is just right. Online and Interactive classes are the only courses I've taken so far. For me, GBC has proven to be convenient for those who take online, interactive video courses, and for those enrolled in certificate programs. Affordable campus housing is lacking. Library hours are an inconvenience.
Great Basin College overall is a reliable community college. The professors are helpful and always there to answer questions. There is a variety of degrees and majors to select from. The campus is easy to understand and find. The advisers are helpful and always around to help a student achieve their goals in college.
Great Basin College is a great place to go to school, especially for being a great distance from any major cities. The faculty seem to really care and try their best to offer certificates and degree programs that will help you earn a career in Elko, or transfer to a University with a solid educational base.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Great Basin College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
The advice would be to go to a different college/university and stay there until you have the education necessary. This is imperative, as without a decent education, you will struggle throughout your career to prove you are smart enough to do the job competently and effectively, no matter the circumstances that may hinder your professional progress.
I will be taking online classes
Any person can attend this school. GBC is made and designed for every person willing to get an education.
The small close like community. It's easy to fit in and not feel like an outsider. The small class sizes are also great, you get a better relationship with your professor , so they know your personality and not just your grades.
Whatever you do, don't take the course work lightly. Even if you are doing well in any/all of your courses, make sure you study the suggested time by each instructor. This is the best way for you to excell in your field of study, whether you are to be a nurse, electrician, mechanic, or other professioal.
I would recomend this school to anyone and everyone. Whether you are just taking your basics and moving to a university or you just want to get your degree at a fair price, GBC is an amazing choice. This college resides in the middle of a mining community so many of their classes are geared twoards trades that are applicable to that type of work however there is also an excelent nursing program as well as vairous social services, computer tech and buisness classes.
I am at this school because of its location.
GBC is a small school with a University feel with instructors that actually care!
The worst thing about Great Basin College is that they just moved into a full time @ year college and are not ready staff wise or teacher wise to do that. They need some more organization and stability in there staff. They also need some more advanced classrooms if they want to be a full 2 year college. they need to get rid of the small classrooms and make them more suitable for the students.
I will be attending online classes Spring 2010. It will be hard because I have a five year old, two year old, and a six month old. I think that it will be challenge but it will also be great to show them that school is important. I would be following through with what I preach about school being good for them and me.
