Guilford Technical Community College Top Questions

What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?

Katelyn

I think, that the views of people attending community colleges are not accurate. People assume that I, and many others, are there solely because their grades would not allow us to go straight into a university. But that is highly unaccurate. The reason I have choosen to get my associates degree at a community college is due to the fact I am lacking the funds needed to go straight into a university. I will, however, be graduating from GTCC this May and transferring to the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

A lot of the students at GTCC are recent high school students. They don't take their academics as seriously as the adult students there. There's a few geeks, but also a lot of slackers. It's pretty diverse though.

Guilford Technical Community College does not necessarily have a certain stereotype of students; our campus is pretty diverse. You have plenty of students who are very friendly and are willing to talk to anyone.
