My college experience has been wonderful. I have learn so much in this experience, not only in academics but in life. Saying you want to live away from what you call home is one to live it is another .. There were a lot of life hurtles that I had to deal with, Yes doing my own laundry was one of them... As it seem so shallow, its amazing how you take for granted all the things your parents do for you. I can't believe how lucky I am to have the opportunity to better my education.
I just finished my two year degree at a local technical school and have transferred to another college for my four year degree. I thought that the two year degree was sometimes challenging, but not as challenging as it probably should have been. It was valuable though, because my degree classes were challenging and I learned a lot. I start classes to begin on my four year degree this month, and I am a little nervous because I think it will be more difficult than my two year degree was. Financial aid has been a bit of a challenge to work out, but so far, I haven't had any problems that have prevented me from attending school. I have made a few friends and learned a lot about study habits and self discipline.
I am now officially done with my first year of college, its day number three of my summer vacation. I have realized how much I have grown as a person in school. I now do yoga and eat healthier trying to do what is best for myself because I learned how important it is to take care of yourself. I also learned that if you strive for your best and truly work hard you will do well. I will come into next semester with much more confidence in myself and much less uncertainty. There was no reason for my nerves, I worked extremely hard and did extremely well my freshman year, even making dean's list! Ultimately, college is making me a stronger and better person than I already was and I cannot wait to continue that and see how successful I am in 3 years at graduation. Everyone who goes to college needs to remember they deserve to be at the school they attend and they can do well if they apply themselves. They owe it to themselves to be the best person and student they can be.
