Hartwick is an amazing school filled with great people who are there to learn and become successful. The professors are always willing to help you just have to ask. They like for the students to get out and do stuff to interact and I would say that helps a lot.
This school is overall decent. I might transfer but have not made a decision. The academics are really easy in my opinion. The food is decent but it's more likely for the food to be bad than good throughout the week. Everybody at this school is friendly. The professors clearly care about the work which is contrary to popular belief about college. The party scene is pretty good, there are lots of sororities but two fraternities that throw parties which is a bit odd. Overall this is a decent school.
When I arrived here at the beginning of the year, I thought things were a little sketchy at first. It felt sketchy because I've never been surrounded by people who actually care about your well-being and where you end up. The campus is pretty small so everyone is familiar with one another, so you have to make sure that you keep your secret to yourself. Chicken nugget day is the best day on campus so far, the chicken nuggets here are the best that I've ever had. Another thing that surprised me was the fact that the many hills and stairs seem to grow on you the longer you're here and do not become much of a problem anymore. One final thing would be to not expect many stores like Forever 21, H&M, GAP, etc because this is a small town, so if you're from the city like me, then this will be a big adjustment for you.
In my opinion I feel that Hartwick College is an amazing school to attend. Their nursing program is amazing as I am part of the 3 year nursing program which enables me to graduate a year early with my BSN. The campus is beautiful and I feel that one of the benefits of living on a hill is that you don't have to go to the gym! All the professors and staff at Hartwick always welcome you with a smile and the small class sizes really helps with your academics. Everyone here wants to see you succeed and that is really reassuring. I recommend Hartwick to EVERYONE and ANYONE when they ask me about school. I LOVE Hartwick. ITS A GREAT DAY TO BE A HAWK!
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Hartwick College is 86%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
I would tell myself that everyone has a place to fit in. I would want to push myself to succeed, to the best of my ability, from day one. You have to make sure you can balance out your academic responsibilities and social life. Also, to be open to many new experience and to give everything a chance, find ways to be involved. The decisons you make will determine what you get out of your time at school, and the experieces you have. Try your hardest, always.
I think almost everyone could be happy at Hartwick College, except those who absolutely hate exercising. The only reason why I think this is because Hartwick is built into the hills of Oneonta and there are literally hundreds of steps all around campus that are 100% unavoidable.
I like my school because it is smaller than huge universities which never really suited me. its about 1500 students in total with a state school less than 5 minutes away. I like the smaller classroom sizes and how I am not just a number, my professors know my name. The classes are interesting as well and keep you up to date with the work needed to be done.
the only part I dont like it that is it is a very small town. It has all the necessities like groceries, pharmacies, and neighborhoods, but it seems very small, and that you might have to drive for a bit to go and do something else that is different like bigger malls and museums, etc.
I wish I would have known to be in shape. The hills are a killer at first, but you gradually get used to them and they give you killer leg muscles. It's a fun campus to manuever around, particularly when you're late to class and trying to figure out the quickest way there with the least amount of stairs.
my classmaes were, fun, hardworking, and determined.
A close-knit liberal arts college.
Harwick College stands out as the small private school ontop of Oneonta. Most people know Hartwick for the education it provides, and for the beutiful campus that it has. There has also been comments about Hartwick being some kind of elite group. This elite group people speak of means that the students that go to this college stick together. A school of 1500 students has that option unlike a huge university where most kids even do not know their fellow classmates. These are the things Hartwick is best known for.
Someone who like a small school and professor student attention. Some who is willing to work hard for their grades and education.
What's unique about Hartwick? Everything is! The sights are breath taking, the area is great, the people are wonderful, and not, but not lease, the education is top notch! You will not be wating your money getting an education here. If you can think of it, you can do it at Hartwick college! Everything that you could possibly imagine is at your finger tips. The oppurtunity to go study abroad, internship, shadow, and just plan out be sucessful in every way. This college is great and I wouldn't trade it for the world.
I mostly brag about the fact that I know I am getting a good education. I know I am living in a safe environment and that my school is clean. We all hope for a clean place so wats not to brag about. My favorite thing to brag about though is the fact that i get unlimited food. Hartwick College offer an unlimited food package for all students.
There are only 2 things I find frustrating about my school. The first is that we have to take a class teaching us how to deal with college life. The concept is good, but I don't think I need it personally, and there are no credits, so it sometimes feels like a waste of time. The other frustration is the stairs! It takes a lot to get to classes but I am so much healthier because of it, so it's a good thing after all.
