It is a historically black university so students of African and African-American decent are its most common attendees. Students who want to be secure in their ethnicity and want to be an over-achiever in their field should attend this university. This is the ideal university for African American students who want to be the next leaders of the world, and who are not afraid to work tremendously hard to succeed and achieve.
There is no stereotype or "kind" of person that should attend this school. Because Howard is an Historically Black University, most automatically assume that you must be black to attend but that is completely untrue. Any and everyone can succeed at Howard no matter their race or place of origin. The professors are exceptional and the course selection is endless. There are also multiple personalities and large varieties of clubs to join and organizations to be involved in that express a wide array of interest.

Those who desire to experience schooling in at a historically black institution would be right at home at Howard. Also people who would like to step outside of their comfort zone of predominately white institutions and experience different African cultures would definitely be able to do so at Howard. Howard is a great place to go for networking and for job opportunites since it is in the heart of the DC-metropolitan area. There are many other great institutions in the area for Howard students to associate with as well.

The kind of person that should attend this school is someone who is ambitious and determined to make something of themselves. We have a lot of professors who are a great inspiration and who we can learn a lot from for those who are willing to be open-minded.
This university is one of the premiere in the world and the best go there. That said, the best is NOT simply academic. You have to be a well rounded person to attend Howard and succeed. The student culture is multifaceted.
A person that is really career driven, knows what they want to do already, and is very interested in extra curricular activities. Also a person who would like to attend a majority african american university with mostly african american professors and interested in learning more about african american culture.
An individual who is extroverted, ambitious, expressive, and ready for a challenge should attend Howard University. There are a lot of social clubs and events to get and keep students involved in campus activities and to encourage socialization amongst our peers. If you don't possess ambition, you shouldn't enroll in school. Not every student has a clear picture as to what they want to ultimately achieve, but they do know they want to be successful and alone takes hard work and commitment. Students should be ready to think beyond their comfort zones and take leadership roles at Howard.
A person that should attend Howard University should be eager to learn and do lots of homework. Also, if an individual wants to get an excellent education and network, then Howard U is the place to be.
