What is your overall opinion of this school?

I feel Illinois State University is a good fit for my educational goals because of the opportunities for undergraduate research and the experiential learning opportunities that are provided. What intrigues me the the most about Illinois State is how the field requires you to apply the knowledge of psychology to real life situations. Additionally, I feel that the culture of the campus is very student-centric and warm. This is important to me as a first-generation college student coming from a small town. I have had several opportunities to visit campus with the Federal TRIO Program that I am currently involved in and knew ISU was a perfect fit.

It is honestly a great school with a lot of emphasis on education. I feel that you don't meet a ton of people though unless you're in a sorority so I wish that was different. The food is not great but it isn't awful. The dorms are decent, wish there was a dining center at all residence halls though.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

As a young pupil I was kind of skeptical at first of Illinois State University. I did not know what to expect about this Central Illinois university that had pictures of Reggie the Redbird on every corner. Its big brother University of Illinois was only 5 corn fields away and I couldn't help but compare at the time. Classes had begun and I was enjoying the different types of lectures. Illinois State gives you classes in lecture halls, or they could be in smaller classrooms with about 20 students. I liked the diversity. Watterson Towers was my first dorm. It is one of the tallest residential halls in the nation. I loved my view that looked over Uptown. I joined the Illinois State University Marching Band called the Big Red Marching machine! That group allowed me to make a handful of new friends. Those friends I made on day one, are still to this day my best friends. Our football team made the championship game down in Frisco, Texas. The band was taken down there and performed at half-time. It was unforgettable. We lost but I can tell the story for the rest of my life. I got to see the school come together numerous times to chant the fight song and sing our Alma Mater. The sports teams here are incredible and they do so well against Big 10. It keeps you excited for every single game. For the next few years here at Illinois State University, I have grown up into such a thriving young adult. The classes challenged me, the RSO's kept me involved in volunteering and participating in school wide events. The president of our University Larry Dietz cares so much about all of us. The band recently traveled to Ireland this past spring break, and he came along with us. We performed in two different parades, and won best band overall performance for both! Not only do our professors have our best interest in mind, but so does our administration. I love it here at ISU. Illinois State University offers the students so many amazing opportunities to travel, learn and prosper through all the different classes and programs. I would rate this school 4 stars. The academics are competitive and the school offers a variety of different undergraduate and graduate programs for you to choose from. The only critique I have is to update some of the old buildings. The technology is by far very advanced and I have no complaints. But I would love to see more renovations being done on the dorms, and older buildings throughout campus. Our squirrels are a little overweight sometimes, but when you are walking back from Milner Library at midnight, and you pass the Alamo 2. There is nothing better then hearing the Alma Mater play.

Overall, this is a typical state school. The buildings are average, there are mostly large gen ed classes, and there is not much to do here on the weekends if you don't drink. It has decent education for a decent prices, but I don't like it here and I am most likely transferring next semester

I feel like there is something to so here for everyone. There are hundreds of clubs, and activities that dance from art to sports. If you are into greek life that is also available, if not that is okay too! We are a big school but it has a small environment that makes you feel comfortable.

Illinois State University is a pretty good. I love the campus. The quad is beautiful and a great place to hang out when it is nice out. The classes I've taken so far are okay, nothing too special. Professors have all been pretty nice. They always have office hours that one can attend if help is needed. The school as a great tutor program that is free for students.

ISU is a great place, where everyone is super friendly. Everything is at a walking distance. The professors are super friendly, and are more than willing to help you at any available time. They are also a very transfer friendly school! I recently transferred and there are so many opportunities to help get familiarized. Also the quad is awesome, because many of the the buildings are there.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Illinois State University is a great school. They have plenty of resources to help you succeed and there is always something to do whether it be parties, sports events, plays, or other activities. Also the facilities they have here are great. I would recommend attending here if you are looking for a large school that has the feel and resources of small school.

The campus is very nice, the facilities are up-to-date. The campus feels clean and new. Housing is nice. I've only lived in one of the dorms yet, but what I've seen there is good. The rooms are well-sized, and it is a pleasant atmosphere to live in.
