Indiana State University Top Questions

There is nothing i would consider the worst thing about Indiana State University. It is a positive environment and a lot of great opportunists to excel.

I dislike the fact that my school accepts students that are not ready for college and takes their money then the following semester send them home. I feel like everyone deserves a fair shot and shouldn't have to start off with a disadvantage and then get taken advantage of by the school.

Not enough engineering opportunity. As a engineering major, I would like to see more engineering jobs or internships offered. I would also like more activites or options to do engineering projects or research.

If you dont know anyone, the faculty and staff can be pretty rude and very ignorant to all of your questions. If you dont know who to go to for help, you end up doing circles all day trying to get answers.

The worst thing about my school, is its location because there arent a whole lot of things to do.

The worst thing about my school is the town it is located in. While campus is nice, the surrounding town isn't the greatest. But, since it is possible to spend almost all of your time on campus, being located in Terre Haute shouldn't affect your choice too much.

I think the worst thing about Indiana state is that some of the classes are so big the professors do not get to know you. If you want to get to know the professors then you have to make youself known.

THE WORST THING ABOUT MY SCHOOL IS, THE LIVING CONDITIONS. THE AMOUNT OF TUITION THAT EVERYBODY PAYS REGADRLESS OF THEIR MAJOR, WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT LEAKING CEILINGS, BROKRN WASHERS AND DRIERS(WHICH SHOULD BE FREE) AIR CONDITIONING AND HEATING NOT WORKING. IT'S JUST SO MANY THINGS THAT DON'T WORK AND WHEN YOU COMPLAIN SOME OF THE MAINTENECE CREW JUS TALK TO PEOPLE IN RUDE WAYS. FOR THE TUITION PRICES AND NOT TO MENTION THE EXTRA EXPENSES NEEDED FOR CLASSES AND BOOK PRICING THE LAST THING STUDENTS SHOULD HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ARE THEIR LIVING CONDITIONS.

I do not feel that there is anything about Indiana State that I would consider a bad thing. The only thing that bothers me is the fact that the towers do not have air conditioning and when the heat is on it is way to hott in the rooms.

I would say that the worst thing about my school is that there is really not that much to do around campus and outside of campus.

The city of Terre Huate is not such a great college town. I feel like the enviroment could be more inviting.

The social life is kind of boring. There is not a whole lot to do in Terre Haute. As much as I love ISU that is a major downfall for me.

the athletic events here are probably one of the worst features of this school. Many people go home on the weekends, so there is not many peole to go to games with. Plus, this school is not strong in any sport, so watching a football or baseketball game is not fun when the teams are constantly losing.

The worst thing about my school is that I am not closer to home. I came from a small town where everyone Knew who I was to a school that I didn't know anyone.

The worst thing about this school is it's lack of technological resources for students. For example, there is no open computer lab in the college of business.

The worst thing about my school would be the many trains that go through here. It's hard to study when a train is whistling many times loud.

The processes leading up until classes are very difficult to understand and complete.

I believe that the financial aid department is pretty unhelpful. I feel as if the just process financial aid that you are awarded but if you need more help you are on your own to come up with the rest. The heart of the school is in the financial aid department so if the want to keep their enrollment up they should help students find the aid that they need to be able to continue attending their college.

The only bad thing about our school is probably the amount of commuters that there are. We have a lot of them, and a lot of people go home on the weekends, but once you find a group of people who do not leave very often its a lot better!!

How many people live in one place with all the pollution. The location of the school is in a very busy area where there is very little clean air. I am from a small town with less than 500 students in my high school. So not being able to go out for fresh air was very new to me. I have notice that I don't feel as well when I am school. It helped me realize how important it is to preserve the environment.

The worst thing about ISU is the lack of student parking close to the dorms. I know a lot of students who refuse to drive during the week because it is so hard to find a parking spot that doesn't require a ten minute walk back to the dorms.

There is a relatively large number of commuter students, so a large number of students are gone on the weekends.

The worst thing about our school is that some of the buildings are out dated and need some maitenence work done to them, for example some of the stairs are cracking and the walls have stains and ceilings have holes in them. I do not like that the health center is not accessable in the evening hours when most accedents occur.

The worst thing about my school would have to be the cut backs of student jobs. Another would have to be the sizes of classes. Being a business major it is very difficult when there are so many sudents in the class.

I would have to say the worst thing would be the environment I live in outside of the campus. At first it was very difficult for me to adjust to such a small campus and town because I am from a big city. I believe this is the worst thing because I was not aware how small the campus or area around it was untill I was actually attending it, basically somewhat of a surprise.

i think my university is not technologically equiped which is a necessity in today's world to be a professional

In a way, our school still looks segregated. People stay in groups of those like them. I look around campus and see a diverse student population but they are not intermingling among eachother. Indiana State is known around here for the diversity of its student body but still, it doesn't seem like everyone is accepting of eachother and willing to go out of their comfort zone to make friends and mingle with someone different than themselves.

At Indiana State University the worst thing would be there is no school spirit. No one attends sporting events and it doesn't seem to bother any of the students or athletes.

The worst thing about my school is that there were not enough school sponsored events that related to the different cultures there. For any minority that enrolled at the university, having those exciting activities outside of the classroom were hard to find, which caused for many minorities to travel home on many weekends. Minority students tried to make their voice heard to student officials, but many times there was nothing done about it.

What I consider the worst part about Indiana State is the city setting, but I have never lived in a city before. The people I know from more urban areas like it, and I think it is growing on me. It was a big change but it happened pretty fast.

The worst part about Indiana State would have to be the financial aid process. The advisors here can tend to be unhelpful at times. Students don't know how much money they need for the school year and what aid is available to them. If you are paying for your education yourself, you need to know detailed information about what you need to have in order to stay a student. If the advisors aren't helpful it makes the financial aid process much more difficult for you.

Many people didn't take academics seriously and could manage to skate through with a minimum amount of work.

There is not much student involvement or excitement.

It is known for the last state school in our state that will except students who are not in the top 30{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of their senior class or excell on there SAT.

The worst thing about Indiana State University is the number of students who smoke on campus. Smoking not only harms the smoker, but also anyone around them. Second-hand smoke is rated among one of the top killers today. Smoking needs to be banned in public settings.

the lack of serious focus on academics. most professors accept the bare minimum without challenging students to do better. i really think this lack of focus has led to our low retention rate and declining academic standards
