Describe the dorms.

Chelsea

they are just the right size. all buildings these days are coed, but even some floors are coed. each dorm feels like its own small community and i have heard nothing but positive remarks from fellow students. every one i have spoken to loves where they live and feels as though their floor is like a family. i think the dorm atmosphere here really helps with the transition into college by making you feel more at home.

I've been fortunate enough to get single dorm rooms all my years at IU, which I think is why I never have had a negative thing to say about the dorms. I mean having a cleaning service so you never have to clean the bathroom? That's 10x better than any apartment in my book.

The dorms are a traditional set up, for the most part, you will spend freshman year sharing a room with a room mate, and a bathroom with 20 of your closest friends. The rooms are big though, quite comfortable for two people, and there is never a line for the bathroom. Right now, the school is going through the process of renovating the dorms, so soon all the dorms will look brand new (not that they aren't great already!). Also, the school is building more housing for students. A large part of the new housing will be apartments or suite style living designated for upper classmen...yes, after freshman year, you can get your own room!
