Greek life is very big at IU, but it is not necessary to go Greek in order to find your niche. I was offered bids to two Greek fraternities, one a social sorority, and the other a business fraternity, but I turned both down after I decided Greek life was not for me. I am still friends with many people involved in Greek life, and they respect my decision to get involved in other things. There are a variety of options for those who are interested: social fraternities, professional fraternities, etc. For those who aren't, it's no big deal!
There is a Greek scene at IU, however, most students are not Greek. For people who want an active sorority/fraternity, you'll find one here for you, but for students who don't, you won't even notice Greek life at IU.
