People kind of stay to themselves, and hang with only their group of friends. No one wants to go out of their way to meet anyone, especially anyone different. Our Greek life is a joke, yet the campus is filled with frat boys that should star in American pie movies, and bleach blonde girls sporting beer bellies and smoking enough to give the whole campus lung cancer. It's pretty much known as a party school, except for the honors college. The honors college has a reputation all of its own. The students are arrogant, “know it alls” that think they have the world by its balls just because they read the required honors college freshmen reading entitled “Asking the Right Questions”, or as they affectionately call it, ARQ. This demonic book claims to train readers to think critically, however it instead destroys one’s ability to listen or synthesize ideas to word toward a better understanding. It also somehow has the tendency to make its readers socially awkward and poorly dressed. In addition to bickering about reliable sources and the validity of certain arguments, honors college students continually compete with each other for grades, opportunities, and the attention/affection of professors. It is basically a breeding ground for snobby intellectuals that think they are better than everyone else because they have a GPA higher than God’s. At least this is what I have learned from my three years thus far.

Denise
