I transferred to IUS this year and I love it. The dorms are nice, the people are friendly, the classes are small and fun, the professors are helpful and caring, the campus is beautiful, and it is really easy to walk to class especially if you live on campus. The atmosphere is just amazing.
Overall, the best parts of Indiana University- Southeast are the dorms, and the outreach programs for local high schools. The dorms are top-notch and pretty brand new, while high school students are given opportunities through their school newspapers and yearbooks.
I love my university! Although I am a Louisville resident I am part of the reciprocity program so I receive in-state tuition prices, which is great! I love that even though it is a four year university, the campus is small and the prices are lower than other universities in my area. During my first semester of college I attended the University of Louisville, and there were about 200 people in my history class. How can a professor possibly get to know and help 200 students in one class? The history class I took this past semester had a total of 23 students and the professor was incredibly helpful and passionate, meeting with me on several occasions to discuss grades and assignments. I have officially been converted to a Hoosier and I can't say I regret it!
I absolutely love it. The environment is very relaxed, I haven’t met anyone who was rude to me, the professors actually care about their students, and everyone is super friendly and helpful. The only downside is that it’s kind of hard for commuter students like me to make friends because we’re not around to participate in campus events most of the time.

Don't wait to attend college. It only prolongs your future. The first thing you need in life is a career and college is the only way to achieve this. Get a four year degree, two year degree just gets you buy. Do your best and don't let anybody or anything get in your way of acheiving your dream. You will regret it in the future if you quit and give up. Don't prolong going to college because your not ready or you want to settle down with that special someone. Your career is your future of making that perfect relationship last. Stay focused and keep yourself motivated on school, put it first in your life. Everything else will come in time. Join clubs and get to know your fellow students. You will be relying on them soon to accomplish group projects. Have fun while you learn, it makes it more fullfilling. Most of all, don't give up. You can make it, I promise.
A small, close to home adventure that makes me feel like I am doing great things with my life and can do anything I set my mind to.
The worst thing about my attending IU Southeast is the distance from home. It's only a two hour drive, but that becomes a long drive when I like to go home on the weekends. I get home sick and want to spend more time with my family, but I have to wait for the weekend since it's a four hour drive both ways. I try to drive during daylight hours and this limits my time at home.
Grenadiers which is sports, I don't get into sports so I just know this is on their from page on website. They have a great business program which is well respected here in Indiana and Kentucky. I have learned so much this term since I have started. They have an accounting club which has speakers that really help students learn whats available for students. They have companies come to talk about externships, communication, and marketing.
The best thing is the size we have here. It's big enough that you get a college experiance, but you still get the one on one time.
Anyone who is committed to getting a degree
Someone who is not mature enough to manage their time and set goal to achieve shouldn't attend this school. There are many classes to choose from and you need to be able to manage your time to be able to maximize the most from the diverse choices.
Small class room sizes
I really do not have a lot to complain about; however, the scarce parking availibility is pretty frustrating.
If there was one thing I wish I would have known before coming to this school, it would have to be the system by which we communicate with our teachers online. The system is called OnCourse, and it took some time to get used to the layout and how to use it. However, after a few weeks of using the system, it became easier to understand. Even though it was quite confusing in the beginning, it proves to be a very useful tool for all needs concerning your grades.
It all depends on the class. General education classes were quiet. My classes for my major are normally more lively. Like asking questions, and discussing in class.
Indiana University Southeast is a small school that is designed to give you that "at home" feeling. The campus life is very active with events occurring every night through the week. Also, the class sizes are small, generally 30 students or less, make learning easier by giving students a better chance to interact with the teachers and get to know them on a personal basis.
