Itasca Community College truly is the best place to start. Whether you’re a high school student looking to do PSEO, a non traditional student who needs the flexibility for their job or family, or just looking to get an affordable Associates degree, it’s all here for you. Financial aid is extremely accessible and I didn’t have to take out any student loans to get my associate of arts degree. And you can change your major at any point with no anxiety. The counselors are super helpful with that. The small class sizes make getting help from your teacher easy, and they often go above and beyond for their students. They provide you with all the resources you need to succeed for free at the library, writing station, and with student tutors. It’s easy to get involved on campus with the wide range of clubs, events, sport, work study, and opportunities to study abroad. I made so many friends here, and am still in contact with a few of my professors.

Bailey

A great school with small class sizes. Small campus so it's pretty hard to get lost but if you do there are always people willing to help you find your way. You also get to know the professors very well and they are almost always available to help.

Felicia

ICC is a very good option, they offer a quality education that is reasonably priced. The professors are willing to help you out with anything you may need and you really get to know them on a first name basis. The class sizes are small so you are able to get to know everyone in your classes. The campus is smaller, which is nice because it makes it hard to get lost in.

Stefan

Everything about the college is fantastic, except for the housing. I enjoy all of the college life but I hate my roommates. The people in charge of putting students together in housing are terrible at their job. My roommates are nothing like me and I cannot stand them. There are no similar interests and I blame the school.

Itasca Community College FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at Itasca Community College?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Itasca Community College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

What advice would I give myself as a high school senior if I could go back in time? I would remind myself not to worry about the cost of college. After all, the cost of college is completely covered! I would tell myself to remember that God is in control, and He will help me take care of the cost of college. I would explain to myself that other students are different than my peers in high school. Most college students have grown up and are not so concerned about what I wear, who my friends are, and what vehicle I drive. College is better in so many ways than high school. For instance, I would explain to myself that I meet new people, who are not judging, but are willing to be my friend. Also, the instructors in college are not as mean and scary as I imagined. They are kind and willing to work with you. No, the homework is not unbearable. It is a lot of work, but Hannah you can do it!

  5. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

I can't really think of much that's specifically frustrating about this school other than the typical thing you could find at any school, like potential floods of homework. However, the engineering program has quite a bit of experimentation going on, and while there's nothing wrong with finding new learning methods, sometimes you have to bear with it to get through anything that doesn't work well. With our Engineering and Professional Development class, for example, we learn different concepts of an engineering career, but when it doesn't work well, complaints are heard from other students.
