A lot of the professors at Ivy Tech are also professors at Purdue or they used to- and they always say that they prefer working for Ivy Tech. They say that atmosphere is a lot more relaxing than Purdue along with how they choose to teach the curriculum. Ivy Tech is really all about wanting their students to graduate with the greatest success possible and they make sure to give their students all the resources that they need.
I like Ivy Tech. The teachers are easy to get along with, and they seem to really care about how you are, not only in the classroom, but outside as well. I feel like it is an overall safe place to learn, and I have only completed one semester there, but I will most likely recommend this option to my friends that are still undecided. the only thing I would change would be to add more clubs and activities as a way to make friends with similar interests.
Ivy Tech Community College of Lafayette is a good school. It is always clean and always seems to be something going on. I never have any trouble finding someone to help with tutoring if I need it and the LRC is a great place to go and study. The cafe is small but has good food and there is a variety of nearby options to go and grab something to eat.
Ivy Tech Community College - Lafayette is a great opportunity for many students of different backgrounds. It's diverse learning institution with many academic opportunities. For those who are looking for athletics not need attend this location unless okay with settling with interdisciplinary sports through the local YMCA. Most of the faculty are helpful, but you do have a handful that send you elsewhere. The class sizes are excellent, allowing small groups to be taught rather than large classes.

I would tell myself to really focus and to take school incredibly serious. I would tell myself that the decisions I am making will affect the rest of my life. I would remind myself that my future is in my hands; and, if I apply myself....life can be quite rewarding. I will also tell myself that time flies; and, my future will be in front of me before I know it. I would encourage myself to exhibit self-control when it comes to thinking about impulsive decisions like eating and wasting time doing things that are productive and won't make a difference in my future. Most importantly, I would remind myself to always put others first; and, to consider how I can make a difference in the lives of others.
The constant changing of instructors, and the lack of help for the most part.
A very practical school.
Diversity and flexibility
That their were many many students attending Ivy Tech thus causing parking overload. Lol but it's ok I still love my school =)
Ivy Tech Community College has campus locations throughout the state that provide you assistance. This allows you to move freely through the state, from city to city, and still attend the same College.
The best thing about my school is the opportunities they provide. You can be a hard working individual and still find the time to go to school. Not everyone has the money to pay for college and not work at the same time. My school has night classes so that I can work during the day to earn money for my tuition.
Anyone who wants a high quality education that does not have the time or money for a four year university.
That it is affordable; and, has a great reputation for their nursing and medical professional programs.
Most of the students are very friendly. Especially in difficult classes we often form study groups to help each other out. Because IVY Tech is a two year community college it attracts a lot of adult students. This brings a level of maturity to the classes. Most of the students are using FASFA or are paying for the classes themselves. Because they cannot afford to retake the classes they work hard to pass them. This creates a wonderful atmosphere for dedicated students.
You should not attend this school if you are not motivated to do your best. This school is more about obtaining your degree and not about the 4 year tradition university that has many social activities.
The most frustrating thing about Ivy Tech that I know of so far is that there is difficulty contacting my specific location and certain departments. I had trouble contacting the financial aid department directly. I kept getting directed to their support line instead.
