This school is a great place for endless possibilities. There are a lot of different majors you can take and I would recommend this school to all my friends. The most important thing that high school seniors should know is that it's normal to be unsure of what you want to do upon graduation. These students should not be discouraged from attending college though. It is normal to not be sure what direction you want to go after graduation, after all your life has been planned out for you until now but your 18 and the decisions you make now will impact the rest of your life. It's a lot of pressure but if you make the choice to attend college now you will thank yourself later. First, you should look into different colleges and weigh out your options by looking at things like what do you want to get out of your college experience? Or how close do you want to stay to home? Look at what academic options your schools offer and go visit the campuses. Once you pick your school the first year or so will be general education and this will give you time to make your career choice. Take all the time you need and utilize your campus resources. There are always people there to help you make your career decision!
Ivy Tech is small and easy to navigate. All of the employees are eager to help you on your way from enrollment to graduation. They want to assist you in taking the classes needed to meet your goals, as well as helping you discover the path that works best for you. The campus itself is comfortable, and the online Campus Connect is also user friendly. Aside from the cozy atmosphere, the price for Ivy tech-from tuition to books to fees-is less expensive than the other schools I have considered, even for the same classes.
Any kind of student could attend. Classes are offered at a variety of times. And if you are only able to go one day a week or two then there are classes that work with that schedule also
my school is a community college that has the basics for my learning experience and that the teachers are very good at helping and making sure you know the material.
The students are great. Everyone is so friendly and willing to give a hand. If I ask anyone for help, they absolutely will. The students are also really involved in school activities and motived to go places in life.
The academics are great. I've felt challenged in every class I've taken, but not so much that I can't take it. The teachers are always friendly and ready to help if a student needs it. The quality of the education here is great. Students are also really willing to lend a hand if you can't get a grip on something. I always feel confident taking a class here.
The most popular student group on campus is CAB. They're the Campus Activities Board. These guys help out with every facet of student life, whether it's getting together a transfer fair or putting together a picnic for the students. It's a great group to be in!
Another really popular group is PTK. That's Phi Theta Kappa. They're the Honor Society here, but they also do a lot of great community service projects.
I love Ivy Tech! When I arrived at the campus on my first day, I noticed how clean the campus was and how friendly everyone seemed. As I've progressed through my education, I've found that both are still true. The quality of the classes is excellent. I always feel like I get what I pay for. Not only is the education great, the campus really tries to keep everyone involved. The Campus Activities Board always has something lined up for students to do, whether or not they are apart of an organization. It really makes you feel like you belong at the campus.
I find the best thing about my school is how friendly everyone seems to be. All of the teachers are willing and happy to help. The counselors are doing their best to find what will work best for me. If I ever have a question or a problem, I have no trouble finding assistance. The teachers help me find solutions to my questions in class. My fellow students are willing to work with me on my school work outside of class, whether it is to assist me if I have difficulty, or to work with me on a group project.
The stereotype of students that usually attend community college is lazy and unmotivated to go to a "real" university. But here at Ivy Tech, the opposite is true. Although some students really couldn't get into a university because of high school grades, the students here are motivated and focused. These students are clearly going places. It's obvious in their work ethic and class projects
The stress that school involes. A way to balance school and work.
This school is perfect for anyone unless the student is looking to live on-campus because that is not offered. Even students looking for a 4 year degree I think would not be disapointed to get started at this school. I myself am wanting a 4 year degree but have found that starting at this school is going to better prepare me for my transfer to a larger school. Not to mention this school is very affordable.
The administration and faculty. Everyone is so helpful and really helps you with every step of the way. I have not had any bad experiences thus far.
i like everything about the school
