I would go back to myself as a high school senior and tell myself to take every homework assignment, every test, every grade, and every class seriously. I would tell myself that slacking isn't going to help me get into college and that my gpa needed to increase, even if I thought it was good enough of me. The last thing that I would go back and tell myself is to do all of the extra credit that I possibly could do so that my grades would rase to something higher than I thought was acceptable. If I would have listened to these words then I think the transition of getting into college would have went alot smoother for me.
In high school, I spent much of my time doing homework and working on the school yearbook staff as the co-editor. I also spent much of my time working at a popular restaurant chain to pay for my first car. I enjoyed my senior year of high school and it flew by rather quickly. If I could go back in time to talk to my self as a high school senior, I would give myself a few pointers. The first thing I would advise my self on is saving money for college. I would talk myself out of buying the car that I am still making payments on now. With out that car payment, I would not have to work as much as I do now and I would have been able to save up more money for my future. I would also advise my self to fill out more scholarship applications and to fill out my FASFA sooner. If I could have given myself this advice, then I would not have had to take out student loans to pay for my first year of college. Now that I reflect back, I wish I would have planned ahead.
I would tell myself to NEVER give up no matter how frustrating life gets or school gets because the end result will be very rewarding.
