"Do NOT be scared. College is a place to find yourself. It is a place of acceptance. "If I had known the atmosphere of a college classroom before I started, I may have chosen another path. I stayed local because I was afraid. I would tell my self there is nothing to fear; to go out and take in all the world has to offer. I wish I had been fully aware of the fact that college isn't just about the things you learn in a book. It is about the things you learn about yourself, your relationships with others, and your future. Not just a future in the workplace, but a future of adulthood, responsibilities, and life changing experiences. If I could go back in time, I would make myself realize that life doesn't end when you leave for college. College has changed not only my view of myself, but the world I live in. I feel as if I was living in the dark and someone opened a door and let in the light. It is the beginning of a new world, new ideas, and ultimately, a new, wiser you!
If the class you want isn't offered at your home campus, you might be able to take it online through one of the other campuses. I did this for a full year without stepping in a classroom! They also have a lower tuition rate compared to other state colleges, and there is the option to fully transfer your credits to four-year state colleges.
The best thing about Ivy Tech would have to be the programs of study. Having different types of programs allows you to become acquainted with diversity and many different types of culture. The kind of person that should attend this school is someone who wants options and help.
My school is great. The help they give you when trying to apply is fantastic. With out the help of my advisor or the people in the front office i may not have got off the ground.
I do wish the Ivy Tech website was more informative on which courses are only to be taken on campus. In addition, the website is quite vague on which courses are offered during the summer time online
Anyone that does not want to learn should not go to this school.
Low cost with high quality classes.
I have not yet noted any stereotypes. The campus is fairly diverse, with different races and ages all around.

Ivy Tech is a small but quickly growing college. There are campuses all over the state of Indiana, actually making it quite a large system.
Hard to get into classes because of high enrollments.
The faculty is very nice and they work really hard to help the students. Class size isn't too large, so it allows for more one on one time with the instructors. There are also a wide variety of students there from all age groups and all nationalities.
