What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

Whitney

I would say the worst thing about my school is the relaxed, and layed back feel you get while you are attending. Experiencing my first semester of college felt as though I was still in high school. There were pushed back assignment dates, and the schoolwork wasn't very difficult. I just am concerned that when I transfer to a University, will I be prepared, or drowning in loads of schoolwork?

To me it feels more like a high school than a college and it's also not near much of anything, so if you have more than 2 hours between classes, the closest place to go to "hang out" or even just home can be around 15 miles away.

The worst thing about our school is the college couselors. They have burned many students by giving them faulty advice or leading them down the wrong path for classes and transfer. I almost got burned myself but I didnt some reasearch myself and talked with counselors from the university I was transfering to in order to straighten things out.

The worst thing about JCC is its lack of resources for students. There are computers at each campus but definitely not enough of them. There are only 3 advisors at the Hillsdale Center, which makes it hard to ever get an appointment with one of them and when you do they can only help you with short term issues. They can tell you the basic classes you may need to take to transfer but cannot tell you if they will transfer or not which ones will be beneficial to your degree if you transfer out. It is very frustrating!
