Nathaniel - 12/07/2021

I love the college, I love the classes, but most of all, I love their library because their library has so much space that I can basically get lost in there any time possible. Not only that, but they also have a tutor program downstairs under the library, which I like going to because the way how they would help me do my homework, it's basically easier for me.

Samantha - 07/02/2020

I enjoy the classes and the atmosphere most about the school. It's a school that is close to home and gives me the opportunity to go to school while my husband is in the military. I love the availability of the professors before and after class time means a lot.

Jefferson Community College is a great place to start one's education career after high school. As far as affordability goes, it is one of the most affordable places to go to school, and the new facilities provide numerous opportunities and resources for research and coursework. The faculty are always willing to help and provide great support for students.

Nelson

This is a very good place for students who don't want to go into debt or just want a fresh start from high school. This school also offers many classes for veterans. You can have these classes on the actual campus or on the base (Fort Drum).

Jefferson Community College FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at Jefferson Community College?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Jefferson Community College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

If I could travel backwards, and see myself waltzing through the halls of my old high school in that itchy wool skirt and a look of naive, wide-eyed optimism plastered on my face, I would tell myself that one of the most important factors in choosing a college is if there are lots of resources, from peer tutoring to theatre clubs that will help you succeed and thrive in school. Also, don't be afraid to join lots of clubs and groups on campus. It's a wonderful way to meet new people and to familiarize yourself with the college. One more thing, is not to be fooled by the perfect veneer that schools will display on college visits. Try to observe the students you see and pay close attention to every little detail. Try to stay in touch with reality and make a wise decision. Good luck!

  3. Describe the students at your school.

My classmates generally graduated from the high schools in the area, they are grouped from the cliques they had in high school, which makes the experience at this college seem greatly like I'm still in high school.

  5. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

At my current school there is a limited variety of class offerings as well as a lack of community. I would prefer more class choices as well as things to do around the campus.

  8. What's unique about your campus?

The best thing about my school is that it is close by to my house. I highly advise students to attend school as on campus residents, or as residents of the college's local community if at all possible. Less school is missed this way due to inclement weather and transportation problems.

  9. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

I wish I had known more about the Veterans opportunities available to me. I attended school for several years under the old GI Bill, before realizing that as a service connected disabled veteran, I qualified for Vocational Rehabilitation services from the VA.

  10. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

The parking is probably my least favorite aspect of the school. Being in the nursing program, I am primarily in the science building but there is rarely parking convenient to the building.

  11. What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

Well, the first thing that I brag about is the low tuition costs. After all I am only a liberal arts student for the time being so by getting my first two years out of the way at a tuition of less than 5,000 dollars I am actually making money as opposed to paying triple tuition for the same education. The second thing that I like to brag about is the surprisingly cool activities that you find at JCC. For example, this semester famous rock band Theory of a Dead Man will be playing a show here.
