What is your overall opinion of this school?

They are some good teachers here and there, and then there are wacky ones. There is faculty that has no clue what is going on in their own school, and there are some that are knowledgeable. It is like a happy medium: not really satisfied but not really upset.

I have been going to Jeff State since I graduated highschool and ever since I have been here it has been a.few ups an downs, at first its was the financial aid office if I could change one thing about my Jeff state experience it would be the financial aide office it's unorganized to me but I digress. Jefferson State is an amazing to attend its very diverse and you meet unlike people and become friends the workload isn't to hectic and I've only met three teachers that we sent hands on with there students but overall I would recommend Jeff State to anyone

I think that Jefferson State Community College is a great stepping stone to starting out ones college career. Since it is a community college, you are able to get all of your general ed classes out of the way before having to spend the money of going to a 4 year university!

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Jefferson State Community College is a great college to get your credit hours that you need as a freshman or sophomore for a cheap price. I've had pretty good professors and In class conversations, but there's nothing more past that. If you want an education that is modest, I would attend here.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

There are multiple Jeff State campuses. I attend one of the (definitely) smaller campuses. The class sizes are small, and the teachers are pretty great about getting to know their students. I have had classes where I have learned a great amount, and others that I have felt like no matter how hard I tried, I had no clue what was going on academics wise in class. Everyone is pretty nice and the environment is always uplifting.

Jeff State is a perfect community college with great staff and a diverse group of students. The cafeteria food is beyond amazing with a great variety of food. One of my favorite things about this school is the class size. I do not feel overwhelmed by the amount of students in my classes.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

It is not meant to be a social experience at a community college. The idea is to get an associate degree or get general courses over with for a cheaper price. After you take the courses you transfer to a university. This college does exactly what it is meant to do. The teachers and programs are good but there isn't much of a student life.

Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.

My school is a great institution to start off at when it comes to adjusting to a higher education and needing to save on student loan debts.

Describe the students at your school.

My classmates are a vast variety from recent high school graduates starting the next chapter in their lives to full time parents going back to school to create a better life for their families.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

The advice I would gove my highschool self about college life and making the transition would to be to actually go through with following your dreams as opposed to going along with where you were pressured into going. My origin intent for college was to study at the University of Montevallo where I felt like I would truly discovered what I wanted to be and would be able to mature into the adult I knew I was inevitably becoming. Due to financial set backs and the pressure from my parents to stay at home and save money on student loan debt, I made the decision to stay behind and do as I was advised. It was my own fault; I have no one else to blame but myself. I would advise my past self to work harder on getting scholarships. Now I actively volunteer and do things for my community to give myself a better chance at scholarship opportunities. I am finally taking control of my own life: i should have done this in high school.
