Johnson & Wales University-Charlotte Top Questions

I wish I had known what to expect as far as classes and what is required from college in order to obtain a better understanding of degree I recieved for an Associates.

Before attending Johnson and Wales I wish that I had more knowledge when it came to cooking. Some of my fellow classmates attended trade schools and had better culinary programs in their High Schools giving them a benefit over me when it came to actually cooking in class. Although I learned more the enough in class it would of been nice to know the basics such as cooking temperatures and knife cuts.

I wish I have known about the Intership Opertunities before I came to this school. If I did, I would have came more prepared be ready to apply for any internship I want.

I wish I knew the right amount of expenses needed to attend this university. Johnson & Wales University-Charlotte is excellent in providing education for their students. Yet, they are less than nice on cutting back some of the expenses. I truly wished that i prepared myself for the cost of the school.

I wish I had known that the university didn't have a homecoming or tri-mesters.

I wish I would have known the other expenses of school. For example that i had to preregister for housing, and it costs money to reserve a room. Not just the expenses of housing but other things like your not always going to get along with your room mates. Also that I am going to be in uncomfortable situations, and having to figure out how to turn it into a positive situation through communication. Another thing is public speaking is not always the most comfortable thing in the world, but we have to take it.

At JWU there isn't the opportunity for art and other fun social activities rather just hanging out or doing the club scene. There are no art electives or any of the fun random classes like you would find at most universities. Also the Financial Planners are not nice or helpful!

That the SkillsUSA Organization doesnt compete in states or nationals.

Don't be so worried about everything and just calm down. College is a fun time!

I love this campus and its surroundings. I am very happy with all the overall facility and would not want to change anything.

Before I began attending Johnson & Wales, I wish I had known how expensive textbooks are at the campus bookstore. If I had known this, I would have ordered my books online from the very first term. I spent way too much money on my textbooks the first term.
