What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

The only thing I wish I had known about coming to this school was how the classes are taught. Because we work in trimesters, the classes are very fast paced, where beforehand I did classes in semesters, where they were slightly slower. However at this time I have now adjusted to the pace of the courses.

I honestly feel like i knew everything i needed to know before I came into this school. They informed me with all the important information i needed befor emy first day of classes.

That the feild hockey team wasent a team and was a varisity club and that if you have any culinary experience labs will bore you to death and you will learn nothing.

I wish I had known the quality of the different dorms available to me. Although I ended up with a good dorm, several of my friends were stuck in very bad dorms away from the main campus.

That there were more services and extra help out there that I did not now about. I would have also liked to now about the study abroad programs earlier that way I could have planned to study abroad next year but I do not think that will work out now.

Before I came to this school I had known everything I needed to know and theres not one thing that I didn't like about it. Johnson and Wales University was the perfect fit for me.

I wish I had known, that the dorms weren't going to be like the ones we see on tv. I also wish I had known that they can put up to four people in one room.

I could handle the classes, and the professors, but I spent the majority of my first few months at school not meeting people because they were a little different from me. The kids most unlike me are now my best friends.

the only thing i wish i had known before attend JWU would of been was time amangement. the reason being is it plays a huge roll in college because there is so much free time after your classes or over for the day. But you would just thing its time to hange out but its not its really designed so you havetime to get your assigments completed adn study time. i really had to adjust to the changes probably like the first few weeks into trimester, but i have learned how to balance it.

I wish i knew i wanted to come to JWU right after high school and not have wasted 3 years thinking about it. I could of been finished with school by now but im just getting started. JWU is the only school i want to go to and i love it.

I participated in the career explorations program over the summer before applying which provided everything i needed to know about the college and I even got to stay in the dorms for 2 nights so I knew the majority of what I needed to before orientation.

I wish I knew that everything off campus is pretty pricey, I would have saved more money over summer.

I chose this school mainly on the field I was trying to pursue. And its location. And from the orientation and speaking with people from Johnson & Wales, I learned alot. So I can't say I wish I had known anything more before coming to this school.

That there is little money to be made in the foodservice industry; specifically in my associate's degree of culinary arts. I wish, I had persued an education at a school that was notorious for highly successful graduates in highly lucrative fields. However, I must say that my culinary education is irreplacable and without it, I would likely be seeking it again.

If there was one thing I wish I knew before I attended JWU, I would like to have known how hard it was to deal with the Financial Services department. This is my fourth year attending JWU, and every year I have had some sort of problem with Financial Services, ranging from not receiveing notices about my finances to the Financial Services office actually mis-calculating my tuition statement, and then not notifing me when they realized their mistake!

I wish I had known how out of place I would feel. Being surrounded by people who have good income, and me coming from somewhere where money is valued so much. I often feel like some kids are not as grateful as they should be for the things they have.

Before I came to Johnson & Wales, I wish I had attended an orientation session to get aquainted with the area and maybe even some people. I know the school just began running an orientation program where incoming freshmen are required to attend. I wish I had been able to do that. Also, I wish I had known more about Providence, and Rhode Island in general becuase there is actually so much to do in this small state!

Nothing, I came to this school alone not knowing anyone or anything about it, and I have grown to build the strongest friendships I have ever had, also the classes were very much what I expected and there were no huge surprises for me when I attented this college.
