The college is very small and not too diverse, but the class sizes are small. This means that there is always a teacher or instructor willing and able to meet and discuss anything. The extracurricular activities are a bit lacking, but there are several clubs to join, especially for a small community college. I feel that being here has been very helpful and successful in preparing me to go off to a university.

It is a great school many high school student are able to attend johnston community college being as low as a freshmen in high school. The school provides you with so many great professors to help succeed and graduate with a two year associate degree.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

If I could go back and talk to my high school self knowing what I know now I would say. Research you major find out what it is that you want to do. Save up money for school you have to be smart on how you use your money especially when you have to buy books and supplies. Get some of your supplies ahead of time. Always research the school of your choice make sure you know what programs they offer and what kind of services they offer for you as the student. You have to be smart and be careful with loans you don't have to take the full amount of that loan that they offer you you can choose the amount be you should remember that in the end you have to pay more back. And I would also say that if you are struggling in your classes don't hesitate to talk to your instructor in big colleges you need to know that your not the only one in the class and others are also pursuing the same degree so its first come first serve basis. Don't give up if things are hard keep trying.

  3. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

The most frustrating thing at my school would be the access to information available to the students there. Often I found out about an event or a deadline at the last minute because there are no working ways in which every student could receive information.

  4. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

I consider this the worse thing about my school because they don't give us enough money considering that yes they have to split the amount between the semesters. However the school should know that as students with needs base should at least make the books cheap I shouldn't have to pay two hundred and something dollars for a text book that may or may not be hard back. I paid one hundred and ninety seven dollars for a english book that only covered one class.
