I love it here! This place has taught me so much. I am glad I chose this school to attend before transferring to a Universitity.
Kaskaskia College is an exceptional institution. Although the main campus stands in a humble community, the college attracts many students from multiple areas of southern Illinois. As high school graduation approached, I was unsure of the path that I would take in secondary education. The academic advisors and instructors have been extremely helpful in making my transition from high school to college a success. I was even able to have a personal meeting with one instructor of the Radiologic Technology program, in which I am currently enrolled, before I applied for acceptance. All of my classes have been academically challenging and rewarding, and I am grateful that my heavy coarse load is possible due to the variety of options for times and locations. Not only do I have a challenging curriculum, but I have a supportive group of classmates and professors as well. It is truly a privilege to receive a quality college education within the comfort of the community in which I reside and work. I am proud to say that Kaskaskia College has been ranked the second-best community college in the entire state of Illinois, but to the students, it is ranked number one in spirit.
Kaskaskia is very small so it’s good for someone who enjoys knowing everyone. The professors are very knowledgeable and they do a great job of helping students understand the topics discussed in their class. The campus is well maintained with an amazing fitness center and fitness trail, but the hours for the fitness center are not the greatest. They offer free tutoring through the ACE, but often the tutors don’t have the best knowledge about the subject. Overall, I would recommend KC to a friend, but only if they were okay with living in the middle of no where in a city with no night life.
I love KC, but there could definitely be some improvements. The food is great, just not a lot that I would eat just from personal preference. The admissions staff is anything but helpful most of the time, the teachers are great, though. The classes are great, too. I don't quite like going to class, but they are very educational.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Kaskaskia College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
If I could go back in time and talk to myself when I was a high school senior, I would have much to say. First of all, I would tell myself to take more dual-credit classes. College is not cheap and I would welcome the opportunity to take a free college level course. I would also tell myself to keep my focus and study every night for just a few minutes, because it will save time craming the night before. Another piece of advice I would give is to get more involved. I was involved in many groups, but I still wish I participated in other activities and played more sports. My final suggestion would be to have fun. This is your last year and you can never get this time back, so enjoy it!
I attend a community college, and so one of the most frustrating things for me was that one of my classes was cancelled, due to an insufficient amount of students in the class. Another aspect is that I have to drive about 30 miles every day, which means gas money.
Kaskaskia College is a very small school, teacher , student, and administration are very close to each other at Kaskaskia you recieve a very good education while still keeping a good relationship with your peers.
Kaskaskia College is unique in many ways. I think if I were an outsider looking in, Kaskaskia College would seem to be a very high quality of education but not at that extremely high college price. KC has proved to be very cheap compared to other colleges and universities, yet very good at preparing students for either transferring or the real world.
I spent my first semester of college at a four year university. I quickly realized that it was not the school for me. It was about six hours away from my hometown, and I knew noone. I really did not like the school, or the major I had chosen there. So, I came back my second semester to our community college. This has given me time to get back on my feet and decided what I want to do, and they really worked around my schedule. If unsure about a major or anything, go to your local community college.
I like Kaskaskia College. I knew a lot about the school before I attened it is in my home town of Centralia Illinois. At Kaskaskia I played Golf and really enjoyed doing that. I feel becoming active in a sport or activity really helps you get to know your peers. I have made some really good friends at Kaskaskia and I hope I will make even more at my next school I attend. I think before you go to a college you really need to make sure it is the right place for you.
That's simple.. Nobody! KC is cheap enough to afford, especially with financial aid. They have a multitude of programs to accomodate anybody's interests including but not limited to: Horticulture, auto mechanics, music, or agri-business! With all of the opportunities at Kaskaskia, it's no wonder there are over 12,000 enrolled students which is more than any other college in Illinois! Anybody can find their place at KC, and that's why I feel at home there.
I have many things to brag about when it comes to my school, Kaskaskia College. Not only is it small and you do not have to walk a mile everyday to get to class, but also the number of people in class is always a reasonable amount. Students are able to ask questions freely and participate in group discussions. I feel comfortable in all my classes and all the teachers are very welcoming and willing to help their students.
