Kent State is like a home away from home. I've met so many new people and have learned so much in my classes. Kent's focus on the arts is refreshing and allows me to further my education in the arts. Any professor I've had so far has always been available and helpful.

Kent State University is a good school. There is a great deal of new buildings being constructed and there's a lot of green space unlike some universities that are in the city. From my experience (I'm a senior) ACADEMIC AMENITIES Professors are pretty good at keeping office hours and some even will meet with you at other times not stated in their office hours. The cirruculum is good and the classes aren't too difficult and there is tutoring offered for many courses in the library. There are also computer labs that are available in the library 24/7 to students. FOOD The food on campus isn't that good, but it isn't horrible either - I'd say 3 out of 5 stars. However you can only use a meal plan at certain times and if you don't have a meal plan the food is kind of expensive in my option it's not worth it for just okay food. It's pretty easy to take a bus to front campus though and get chipotle or you can order pizza and there's some other fast food restaurants too. HOUSING The dorms aren't great - they're a bit dated, but the atmosphere of students is pretty awesome there are always new friends to be made and most people just leave their doors open so they can communicate with people passing by. Off campus living that is close to the university is super expensive, so unless you have a lot of roommates you'll be paying a ton for an apartment. INFRASTRUCTURE As far as parking and infrastructure, the parking passes are pretty expensive and it's on a seniority basis, so it your a freshman or sophomore you pretty much get screwed with parking passes and have to park miles away from campus. But there are busses that will take you from any of the parking lots to campus, which is fine in the fall, spring and summer but in the winter it's FREEZING waiting for the bus! Also if there's road work being done you can kiss being on time to class goodbye unless you leave at least 25 minutes earlier than you would usually leave. STUDENT LIFE There are so many clubs and fraternities/sororities to join and be a part of, and the majority of the students are super friendly and open to making new friends. SAFTEY The campus is safe and there are emergency poles all over so if anything ever happens it is close by. There are also a lot of campus police that cruise around, and if a crime ever happens or any important news we receive flash alerts through text and email that let us know what is going on. These alerts also apply to weather updates, class cancellations, and electrical/water issues. Kent has its perks and it's downfalls, but overall it's a pretty good school.

For me, Kent State University is the only college I can even consider attending. The campus atmosphere is friendly and inviting while also laid-back and not too hectic. I feel completely comfortable there, thanks to the amazingly helpful faculty and residents. I cannot wait to move in and complete my education there.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Kent State is an up and coming, large, Mid-American Conference school that has yet to peak. Tuition can't be beat and paired with new facilities being built every year Kent is a great school to spend undergraduate studies at. The school undeservedly has somewhat of a bad reputation, but once you look past that you will be surprised what you find.

I love Kent State. I have had nothing but positive experiences here. The campus is pretty large, but there are a lot of classes available, the scene is very nice, the library is AMAZING. The Psychology program here is thorough and I am enjoying it a lot.

Overall, Kent State University at Kent is a great university to attend. They know how to make it a home away from home and make you feel comfortable. Especially if this is someones first time being away from home for a lengthy amount of time. They have plenty of activities on campus and find ways to get students involved. Almost every faculty member wants to be involved in the students lives so they can have new activities for what the students like. Kent State makes you feel very safe and will do anything to make sure their students are safe.

Kent is a great school. It largely provides everything you would want in a school. With such a diverse student body, you definitely grow as a person after your first year. You may also have a new perspective on things in life. Of course there is tons of fun events to attend and things to do, all the while you will be getting a solid education. And you will be surrounded by people pushing you to do what you really want and also graduate on time. Some people may say this is a big campus, but I think it is just the right size. You never feel cramped and you will never feel lost and like you are just another number.

Kent is a wonderful place to evolve, it changes you but in a good way. The worst thing about it is paying for the tuition of sports players while the food still sucks! They university is self is rebuilding a new foundation of a healthy living community which is also great.

Kent State University has a very diverse campus, which is set on inclusion and academic success. Not only is there a widely successful intellectual environment at Kent, there is a stimulating social environment as well. Kent encourages their students to interact with one another to improve themselves and their studies. I am so proud to be a part of such a wonderful environment such as Kent. I highly recommend the school to anyone considering applying. I know I am glad that I did.

I have been at kent state for one year. It is a beautiful campus. It is very big, which I enjoy because I don't feel suffocated and everything is in walking distance. Academics: My academic experience has been good so far. Professors have been very understanding. They have office hours and encourage students to attend them and try to give as much help as they can. They don't want you to fail you just have to be willing to work. Food: There a lot of different options for food. There is even one place on campus that is open 24 hours. We have a gluten free dining hall. There are also places to eat healthily and get warm meals that are as close to home cooked as it gets. A lot of different options. Activities: There are a lot of clubs at kent. But it's difficult to know about them and when their events are. It makes getting involved a little more difficult. Make sure to check out bulletin boards for club meetings and to follow clubs you're interested in on social media. Dorm Life: you're sharing a room with another person, it isn't grand. The standard dorms are you with a roommate and 2 big bathrooms on the floor and inside are private pod rooms. This is nice because it's not like a gym shower it's more private though you have to share it with others. I've never had major issues with being able to find a bathroom when I needed, I just learned when they were going to be the busiest and adjusted. More luxury dorms have a bathroom you share only with your roommate or the room next to you. There are 3 dorms on campus that are kind of like apartments where you get your own room and a living room. Engleman is like an apartment building with a kitchen in each room and everything, but it's more expensive than living off campus and you still have to abide by dorm hall rules. The most popular option are the centennials.
