nicole

The students are helpful, and willing to step in to help new students find their way.

Michelle

Going into college, I had no idea what to expect when it came toward my classmates. My first day moving in, everyone was very inviting in my hall and very helpful. Once classes started, I made many friends in all my classes. The classmates I met were very nice and always willing to help out if i needed it. The classmates I met in my classes made it easier to learn and I also made many friends which I still have today.

Sarah

My classmates are pre-med students, so they are very competitive and academically focused.

Justin

Kent State has a diverse population amongst its student body.

Charlotte

My fellow classmates are from a diverse range of ethnic backgrounds, with many international students; they have a desire to get school work done, but also want to have fun.

Alicia

My classmates are the most unique, fun, exciting individuals I've ever met in my life because they challenge me to go outside my comfort zones to share with them details about my life that I have never shared with friends before college, to be spontaneous in public situations when I usually would be quiet and reserved, and to just have a fun experience while working towards my degree and making the contacts I can use in the future.

Shawn

My classmates are extremely unique.

Taylor

I absolutely love Kent State University. The student body is diverse, and I rarely ever see tension between students. While it is a large school, it is spaced out effectively so that students are not overcrowded. Furthermore, every dealing that I've had with administrators and the people who work in the offices have been very rewarding. One woman at the financial aid office helped find me extra school funding just so I did not have to go through the trouble of getting a loan through the bank! The only complaint I have is the disorganization in the advising offices when it comes to scheduling for majors and minors. Many students are told to take unnecessary classes or have to take extra classes because their adviser misinformed them.

Erik

The students at my school are excited to learn!

Cindy

Students are generally pretty accepting of those different from them. Groups of friends have all kinds of contributors with different races, religions, etc. Kent makes sure the students know that activities and friendships are for EVERYONE. No one is singled out because they are 'different.' I would think that anyone should feel welcome here no matter what kind of student they are. Kent State is for everyone! Once you get to college you can basically wear what you want. Students wear sweats, pajamas, dressy clothes, etc. You can find any type of style from gothic to preppy to jock. Everyone is free to express who they are here. The majority of students here are either students from nearby to around an hour or so away or they are 'study abroad' students. I would say that most students here are fairly middle class but not many people expect students to have much money once they start college. Friends will generally talk about anything ranging from money, paychecks, relationships, food, ANYTHING.

Samantha

We have over 30,000 students on campus, you'll find a huge diverse group of people. We are not much of a greek school, only about 30{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c}, but I would recommend looking into it, it's a great way to meet people and get involved with the campus. Most people just wear comfy clothes to classes, especially in the morning, unless you are a fashion major. We are a liberal school and people are not afraid to voice their opinion. Most people are from Ohio, but everyone has a different financial situation, trust me you are not the only one. A great thing about our campus is that it prepares you for the real world, the careers center works extremely hard to find a job for EVERYONE by the time of graduation.

JOCKS: A bafflingly large, but concise subset of students who take intricate care of their chiseled bodies through exercise and diet. All male 18-25. I have yet to understand why these jocks converged here. GEEKS: Residents of the student lounge. Dungeons and Dragons, ping-pong, Super Smash Bros Melee, promiscuous flirting. I only suspect that they actually attend classes at the school because of their frequent complaints about said classes. SUPER MOMS: Fulltime parents who work fulltime and attend fulltime classes. They depend on various others to raise their kids while they crush their atrophied gray matter under a burden of stressful responsibilities. They are my heros.

They will always help a classmate in need, and never in my experience have I witnessed a student being rude to their peers or their professors. Student's and my classmates at Kent State, I would have to describe them as driven because it's the reason Kent has the rank of one of the top universities in Ohio but as well as top 200 in the world. With that the drive for success has to be there, which I see and work next to students that have that.

Lynsey

My classmates are dedicated to their studies and encouraging, also they are critical, in a constructive way though, and helpful to my growth in college.

Jesse

Thus far, my classmates have been nothing but supportive, helpful, reliable, hard-working, and consistent.

Tessa

Most of my classmates are responsible, respectable adults willing to help when needed.

Jessica

My classmates vary depending on each and every class. My general education classes bring people of all majors in, in which case I'd describe them as drones. We all take classes that the university says will make us well-rounded individuals, and some of the students are surprised at what they are interested in. Classmates in classes pertaining to my major are very task-oriented yet personable. They're just like me, and I felt like an outsider before I went to college.

Lydia

My fellow classmates are always willing to help out, whether in a study group or just for some directions.

Students seem so eager to learn and make going to class enjoyable. Students get along well for the most part and don't just care about themselves but their peers as well.

My classmates are goal oriented.
