It's important to amke the correct choice for college because some colleges aren't what they appear to be. They may talk a good game, but you should go isit and ask numerous amounts of questions. May sure you ask about organization because you don't want to find out two days before classes that you can't get your books.

make sure the college is affordable, serves the right purpose, and has a good environment. Also make sure the college or university is well organized, and are eager to help the children succeed. When making the choice you have to make sure the university is appealing to you and the parent, meaning the appearance of the facilities, dorms, etc.

I highly suggest making visits to prospective schools. Being able to get a feel for the campus atmosphere and sitting in on a class or two are not experiences that you can recieve the same amount of information about from merely reading a brochure. Choosing a school really requires balancing where the student feels most comfortable, what he or she is capable of affording, and the type of academic programs and assistance that is offered which will benefit the student's chosen career path. To make the most of one's college experience, I recommend getting involved in campus organizations and participating in events that are offered through the school, as well as taking advantage of services such as internship opportunities or job placements which the university offers. College experiences are very much what each individual makes of them, so as long as a student puts academics first, and then learns to balance that with a social life, a student has the recipe for having a very fulfilling college experience.
