Keystone College Top Questions

Describe the students at your school.

Amanda

My classmates are extraodinarily intelligent students who bring their own individual thoughts, ideas, and opinions to the classroom everyday, which allows our daily classes to be so fascinating.

Marissa

My classmates are mostly serious about attending college. Some don't seem to really care about their grades, but most do and they do really well.

I have had great experiences with racial, religious, LGBT, socio-economic and other groups on campus. Keystone has very diverse students and has really changed the way I feel about people that I was never exposed to coming from such a small town. I have made so many friends that I never would have expected to before coming to Keystone. There are no students who should feel out of place here; everyone is very friendly here and very personable. There are students from many different countries and ethnic backgrounds. Most students wear jeans and a hoodie to class. I myself like to dress up sometimes but there are also students who wear sweats. Yes, different types of students interact because Keystone is so diverse. If there were four tables of students in the dinning hall, they would most likely be athletes and friends who have lived together or do live together, A lot of the students are from the area or somewhere in Pennsylvania or from New Jersey, New York, or Maryland. Politics isn't something that is typically discussed in the dinning hall so I'm not sure.

Wow. This question is tough. All of our students are so different it is hard to describe them. We all have different views and backgrounds. Some people are from local areas, others are from distant states and even countries. Some adhere to more conservative views, while others are more liberal. Some are more athletic and partake in more than one sport, while others are more interested in the academic parts of school. It is very hard to characterize the students in any specific way because we are all so diverse. For instance I am a republican who comes from a rural town, I went to a private elementary and high school, my parents are happily married and only had two children, and I am not atheltic. On the other hand, my first roommate is a democrat from a city in which she went to the local school. Her parents are divorced and she has many brothers and sisters. She is also very athletic. Although we are so different we both ended up at the same place, getting along, and having fun going through the college experience together.

Keystone is pretty diverse, which really surprised me coming here. Being the small school we are, there are a wide variety of students in every aspect. Students come from many different states, as well as other countries. However, being small means that almost everyone interacts and has different groups and types of friends.

Mike

At Keystone, their is a lot of diversity when it comes to the students. We have students from different parts of the country and a round the world. Even though we are a small campus, I still continue to make new friends everyday. Most of the students are friendly and you can get a long with almost everyone. For example someone who is interested in art, can be best friends with someone who dedicates their lives to running. We all come together in a time of crisis. An great example would be the recent flooding we had in local areas a round the college. We went out to help those clean up and we started a food drive to help those who lost everything. Keystone is diverse, but when in doubt we all stick together.

Everyone here at Keystone are very friendly and accepting (I think). It's a small college so it's easy to get to know everyone here on campus. It's very diverse here people with different backgrounds, and plus a couple of students are out of state (including me). Overall people here are very accepting.

Kelsey

My classmates are the best cummunity of professional students I could ask for. We are in a competive enviorment and yet we still help each other as much as we can with constructive crits and helping each other with techinques. After so many years of working hard next to each other we are more then a community of learners, we are an extended family.

Brandon

Outgoing, liberal and diverse. This campus is friendly to gay, lesbian and transgender indivduals as well as a limited but present cultural diversity. I am lucky enough to have friends from everywhere on campus and can say that each individual brings something new and amazing to the campus. There is a lot of partying that goes on, but you only get to see it if you are interested in it, since this is a dry campus. Here, the atmosphere is what you make it. If you can balance schoolwork and social life, you got it made.

Lauren

Very enthusiastic, friendly, and eager to aid in academics.
