What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
I have a younger sister who is just about to choose a college, so lately Ive been formulating such advice. I think that the best thing to do is take some time your senior year and really research and think about what you want to do after college. Do a lot of shadowing/ externships/ etc. so that you will truly understand why you want to go to college, and so you can also find the right college for you. I wish that I would have researched my career aspirations in high school. I circled around the healthcare profession, from surgeon to researcher to nurse, finally landing on nurse midwife. A little more research in high school would have saved time and money in the journey that is the college experience.

My classmates, I would consider more of my siblings. I trust them with everything, and they help me whenever I need a shoulder, or advice, or a friend. My classmates are diverse and interesting, and I love learning from them and talking to such engaging people.

Lafayette College has an excellent and extremely challenging science and engineering programs. A Lafayette degree in science is something to brag about.

The best part is that there is always stuff going on. If you want to have a good time, whether it be with alcohol or without, you can always find something to do. The only drawback to this is that stuff can get a little too repetitive at times, but not for most people.

Students who want a giant population on campus because the college campus is small and has about 2400 students total. There is a good social aspect but not the same as a large university.

Lafayette has wonderful academics. If a student is looking to come to the school, it should be first and foremost because of its academics. Students who come to this school can get an incredible amount out of our academic programs, provided he or she is willing to work hard and put the effort in. Lafayette professors are completely accessible and enjoy nurturing driven students toward whatever direction they are interested in.

I think the strong academics. I also am proud of our strong alumni connects. The professors do a good job of working with the students to make the experience the best it can be.

No. The majority of students that attend Lafayette have eclectic interests and don't necessarily fit into the small-liberal-arts-college stereotype.

How much the social life is based on fraternities and sororities, and that if you don't get into one your life will suck here.

OK with knowing prof's personally, not afraid to stand out, not looking for big-city opportunity, likes leadership opportunities, open to a diversity of interests.

Laf-Lehigh is probably our longest running campus tradition. The rivalry speaks for itself, and it's the one campus event that revs up school spirit like none other. March Field and the Quad are awash in a sea of leopard print. By 7AM you can look out your window and see the pep rally making its way across campus. People come out and they make a lot of noise and wave their Pard Pride around like it's nobody's business. Even if you're not the biggest fan of football, Laf-Lehigh will stir something in you.

Definitely an active social life. About a third of students participate in greek life, but you can still have a social life without participating. Lots of athletes (Division 1 sports.)

Lafayette College is a small private college that consists of about 2400 student. For me, it is just the right size. With the small number of students in every classroom, I usually have more time to talk to my professor having a leisure conversation or asking some homework question. I personally think that if you are a person that really wants to work hard and gets to know people, Lafayette is the place to be.

There really is nothing frutrating aboutLafayette. Anything that is frustrating comes from my own personal issues as a student, it has nothing to do with the school. The personal fustrations that I do face can be fixed through different resources actually provided by the school.

Their are plenty of dining options at Lafayette and most of them are very good. There are two main dining halls with all you can eat buffets (farinon and Marquis), a food court and two other options that offer sandwiches, burgers etc. One of these places (Gilberts) is open late night and is a popular place in the early am for Nachos.
