Class dynamics are so dependent on who's teaching and what class it is. I've been lucky that almost all the classes that I've taken had superbly engaged professors as well as students who brought insight to the discussion. As a humanities major, I am constantly immersed in seminar-style class discussions and I LOVE it. I love tangential topics, I love tying points raised in class to things outside of that particular subject, and I love how professors can pick up on our trains of thought and run with them. Yes, there's a lot of hard work that goes behind the (frequently assigned) papers and the in-class discussions but it's so worth it.
Classes are tough but rewarding. the professors are going to make you work but they are always willing to help!
