What is your overall opinion of this school?

Lamar Community College is a school that has just about everything. Business programs, health programs, and even rodeo programs. While on person is a total cowboy, the person next to them could be the next top vogue hair stylist. Overall, Lamar Colorado is just a great place to be.

This a rural town that needs the city to grow. The main reason I came to this school was sports but they need to give more. Such as food opportunities instead of the café, cheaper books, also when they buy back books they need to give the right amount .

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

The advice I would give myself as a high school senior is to go with the flow of everything and prepare for the best years of your life. High school is just a stepping stone in life and college given is another stepping stone but the life long friendships that you make and the family that you gain from classmates or teammates is a bond that you may never receive in a high school.

What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

How small the town itself was, but overall I would not change my experience at this school I loved every single moment of it.

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

The worst thing is how small it is, but again the size doesnt matter when you gain a whole family

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Start thinking about college sooner. You need to apply for as many scholarships as possible because it is really difficult to make ends meet when you move away and have to start paying for things yourself. College is very expensive and if your parents both work there is not much help out there. It is also really hard to find jobs in small towns that are willing to work around school schedules. This also makes life tough.

What's unique about your campus?

The horse program. They have great instructors and you get to ride your horse everyday.
