For myself, LSCO was a very good experience. There was not much activity sports wise, however, we did go to group sports or activity days for different organizations. Our groups within different study areas hosted a lot of fundraising events as well as things like movie nights for students, art shows and contests, and different public services and outreach. I was VP of memberships for PTK in 2017 and was the President for our school’s chapter of PTK in 2018. I also was the President for our LVN program for the evening group (we had a day and evening group due to the number of students). In both positions, I held great responsibility. The school offers great tuition prices and very good advisors that assist with helping students line out their degree/study plan as well as access to many areas and resources to study. Overall - I would recommend LSCO (Lamar State College - Orange) to anyone wanting to take their basic classes or pursue a certificate in a trade or an associate degree that is offered there.
I think it's a very nice school and is very convenient for me; especially when I need the professor's help. They are very nice and always respond in a timely manner when emailed. I have never had a problem with them and all of the employees are very well mannered and never rude.

Study! You can't blow off any of these classes, Julia. If you knew that you were going to make a letter grade C in your favorite class, you would've studied for those exams instead of goofing off and watching T.V., right? Being studious and taking charge of your college work is what will help you fly! If you write it off and say you'll do it later, you won't, trust me. You push it back and back until you never get it finished in time. If there's one thing I want you to know more than anything, it's that you must meet your deadlines. The world isn't a forgiving place, it's factual and punctual. Julia, if you miss as many classes as I did, if you don't do your work like I did, you will fail. Please, don't make that same mistake!
Most of my classmates are intelligent and mature, eager to start their new lives away from home in their selected prospective university. My classmates are typically exuberant and silly at times but know when to get serious about their classes and about their grades which is a good quality and wisdom to have, especially when considering the importance of college.
Lamar state college-Orange is a school geared toward the student rather than making money. Our conselors are ready and willing to help the students at any time, whether for filling out financial aid information or figuring out what a particular student really wants to do later on in life. I really look forward to becoming a Dental Assistant as a stable job to my dream of becoming a published author and Lamar state college-Orange is the community college closest to home and familiarity.
There really aren't any stereotypes at this school. The school is small and doesn't have a football team.
It's just a lot of people wanting to get an education and choosing a school that fits them.
Someone who isn't motivated to learn shouldn't attend this school. At Lamar, the teachers encourage you to be self-motivated by not holding your hand, and by expecting you to study without being prompted and show up to class when said class is in session. They want you to be resourceful and respect your own education. If you have none of these qualities that they so highly expect, I would advise that you not attend my school.
