Aiden - 01/05/2024

Lane is Great school for education, but not enough money or care goes into Sports, especially the Baseball programs which are very lacking for a college campus.

Luke - 09/20/2023

I think it is a great place to learn the basics in a simple community and to get your career to a good start. As a community college it is affordable, which is great for people to learn some basics in their field of study. Lane has plenty of opportunities for free tutoring and such, showing that they care about the students individually.

Mara - 04/04/2023

Not a bad school if you're trying to just get your general education classes out of the way or if you're trying to figure out what you want to do career wise. However, not an overall welcoming school, the front office is not always the nicest or most willing to help. Trying to get a professor to explain the grade can take several months just to get a short answer of 'my bad, I'll change it.' You get what you pay for essentially but it has enough resources to help you get started off on the right foot with your adult education.

I love Lane Community College! The advisors and administrators are very kind and helpful. It is clear that they are deeply invested in student success and well-being. Many study and tutor opportunities are available in every major. Professors are easy to connect with and always seem happy to help. As a first term student, I had no problem navigating campus. They made it easy and painless for me to re-enter education after over a decade away. I am very much looking forward to the rest of my time at LCC!

Lane Community College FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at Lane Community College?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Lane Community College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

It's so difficult to pinpoint, or to know, exactly what I could have done differently to make things 'easier' on myself. But I think, if I were to make a list, time management would be at the top of it. There are, understandably, any number of things besides homework that a college student wants to be doing and experiencing. In order for the college experience to be ultimately fulfilling however, one must successfully balance academia with this craving for life experience. There are a plethera of ways an individual might go about scheduling their time wisely, but the most important, for me, is spreading the work out over the entire length of any assignment. This allows me to stay focused on what I'm doing and get the work done on time, while also affording me time to spend doing other things and pursuing other interests.

  3. What kind of person should not attend this school?

The kind of person who should not attend Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon is a person who is not interested in thinking critically. They need to not be the type of student who wants to challenge what they think and believe, and is willing to evolve out of their current position. They need to open to the experience of new ideas than of the past, all the while being respectful of what the past can teach us. And if the prospective student cannot live up to this kind of thinking, maybe they should re-think this particular school.

What I like most about Lane Community College is how every classroom has just the right amount of students, so you are able to get to know everyone including the teacher on a more personal level than you would at a university. 6. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

A few things that I wish I would have been aware of before I started off my first term are: that you need to get signed off for advance registration for the next term. If you don't do advance registration it is very possible that there may be no classes left for you. I also wish that I would've known more about how to use express lane, because express lane is a very helpful tool for a student but can take some time to get used to.

  7. What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

When talking to my friends, I brag that I am in school and that it is hard to find an excuse not to be. Earning a degree is likely the single most important thing you can do to gain advantage in a given field or the workforce. When I brag that I am in school, I also brag that I work full-time but still manage to go despite my other responsibilities.

My classmates are people with dreams of a better, easier, and healthier world; a world that is considered the new American Dream: where everyone cares about one another, cares about the planet, and thinks before acting; where the color of skin isn't a segregating concern anymore; where all products are earth friendly; where everyone has insurance and economic security now and in the future.

  11. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

I really do not like how the financial aid/ enrollment services is ran. You have to take a number just as if you were in a DMV and you end up waiting for a long time just to ask a simple question. It's hard to go and talk to them because you have to try and make time in your busy schedule which can be really hard.
