I think Lansing Community College is a great school who offers a lot of opportunities for their students to get involved with their community and to show our community our talents. I love how small the class sizes are and how accessible my professors have been. They want us to succeed and learn to our fullest potential. All of the staff are so helpful and kind to the students and visitors. The buildings are nice and kept up and clean. They provide us with all the tools and services that we could possibly need.

Cameron

I love the campus of Lansing Community College. The teachers and advisors are truly here to help when the students are in need of them. The star zone has been huge for me since my move here. They make me feel very welcome and apart of something. I’m happy that I chose to take classes at LCC!

This college overall isn't too bad at all. The professors care about their students, class sizes are small, and each course is interactive in some way. The extracurricular activities have improved a lot since I've been there as well. It is also aesthetically pleasing and an overall nice, comforting ambiance.

I think that LCC is a good school, however it's hard to meet new people here. I think that this is a college that many people choose to go to later on if they passed up on college after high school (not that this is bad) There is a wide variety of ages and so it seems that on the social level LCC is lacking a bit. The teachers have been fairly good to me so far, only had one that I wouldn't say was to my liking.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I have been attending college for a lot of years trying to find out what I was going to do with my life. Looking back, I know exactly what I would tell myself. Believe in YOURSELF. I know that sounds cliche but knowing what I know now, it is so important to believe in your passions and your skills. Happiness, true happiness is found in doing what you're truly passionate about. It's not just about making money, it's about enjoying life. Find what makes you happy, find what you're secretly really good at and love doing, and go for it! Money will find it's way to you if you just choose the career that you honestly will be passionate about. It took me 5 years to realize that I wasn't following my heart because everyone around me told me it would be too hard to make money taking pictures. Now I know I could not be happier doing anything else.

My school is best known for it's theatre, sign language and nursing programs. They are all top in the area and give out many scholarships a year. I am currently going to a community college and it is very one-on-one. The class sizes are small and it is very personal. Lansing Community College is one of the best community colleges anywhere. It is really growing quickly and is very affordable. It is a really great alternative to a university or even a great tool to save money before transfering and makes the transition a bit easier.

  9. Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

The staff, administration and teacher honoestly care about the growth of their students. LCC offers a student veteran department that provides resources not only for the veterans but for their families as well. LCC works hard to provide a safe, constructive, welcoming environment and classes in ways for all students to obtain degrees, even a Bachelors. Plus LCC offers classes just for fun, subjects like motorcycle license, excercise, crafts etc... High school was not comfortable for me but I am relaxed and enjoy attending LCC. Its easier to learn and enjoyable to attend and participate in class discussions.

  10. What kind of person should not attend this school?

People should not attend my community college if one already received scholarships and finances in order to go to a different college of their choice. Also, if one has their prerequisites finished one should consider going to a college that focuses more on the area of study that you would like for your future. LCC is really known for their nursing program. So, if you are interested in going into a different area of study then I suggest you go to a different college only if the requirements mentioned above are fulfilled.

I love LCC. If I had to choose one thing to brag about it would be the equipment they let us get our hands on! As a photography student, they let us loose in full equipped studios with equipment that I'm not even sure when I'll ever be able to afford it! They treat us like we are real up and coming professionals and it really makes me feel confident when I know they believe in my skill set.
