What is the stereotype of students at your school?

The main fact that lingers amongst LU students as a stereotype is that students here are trapped or in the "Lawrence Bubble”

A lot of people are under the impression that everybody at Lawrence is enrolled in the Conservatory. While the school is certainly known for its strong music program, Lawrence actually has an equally strong Bachelor of Arts program too. Some people think that Lawrence is full of "weirdos", but I have found that Lawrence has tons of really cool people from all majors and walks of life. We have musicians, athletes, volunteers, actors, artists, activists, etc.

That they are rich white kids who know how to play music.

I think some people come in worried that because it's a private school that all the students are going to be rich or snobby. Also, Lawrence has a conservatory and it's really played up in the recruiting of students, and some incoming students may think that it's all about the Con.

The university is divided between athletes and conservatory students. Everyone is super busy, to the extent that it is very hard to date and form invested relationships outside of your freshman year.
