Overall Lawson State has been an awesome college so far! My first semester was great, even though, I got lost a few times but that happens to everyone on their first day. There are a handful of clubs/organizations to participate in, the basketball team is very spot on, the cafeteria food is delicious and the teachers' lectures and the teachers period are great. I always feel like every day I am learning something new. I am so glad I came to Lawson State for my college experience!
For Lawson to be the first college I have attended, I think it met my expectations. Great campus, great classes, and awesome professors. They are very engaging and genuinely care about how well you do. Lawson made my college life exciting and gave me space to grow.
I think it is a great community HBCU college and if you do your work and come to class regularly , college life should not be that stressful here. In my opinions, they set standards for there students, I am not sure if all other colleges/universities do this but in order to actually pass a class at Lawson, you must have an C and above, D's and F's are failing grades so I think because of that, students really have a high standard to pass class because at Lawson, a D is not acceptable plus there burgers are delicious.
I love the school . Most of the teachers are nice and i can always talk to them and get help with anything i need. I think it’s a great place to get your basics done. So when you go to a 4 year school you will always have the easy stuff out the way . Just like any school there are going to party’s but at Lawson stay they keep you on the right path really try to help you make it in life.

the advice i would give my self is to keep a level head at all times. also to not take school for granted because i realized how expensive college can be unlike high school was a free education but now kowing my family is not fortunate to send me to college.
My classmates in every class are sometimes not very talkative, but can be a joy to be around.
my school is best know for the nursing program an for their athletics program.
People who do not like loud music, sometimes noisy libraries, and slow application processes should not attend this school. Some of the young males arrive at the school with their music very loud. The library is very noisy unless you go in there early in the morning which is when there are harldy any people at school. The slow application processes mainly go towards the financial aid office. They have you traveling different places at different times to get the papers you need to file and scholarships for financial aid instead of telling you what you need all at once.
My school is very diverse.
I wish I had know how to get more funding for my education
The most unique thing about my school is the abundance of resources such as free tutoring and job resources.
The academics are basically for students who have a higher GPA also they have some for students who are not up to that level & they are easy
The most popular student activities are probably dancing & joining fraternities
Not too long & very understandable
I enjoy the professors here. They are helpful and very knowledgeable in their field.
I decided because i was interested in the major they have for me (which is criminal justice)
The worst thing that Lawson offer is the admissions and financial aid process. I feel that they could in advance with getting the information to students quickly instead of being late with the necessary materials that are needed.
I would say not knowing where ypur classes going to be, especially of tpu are a freshman
