Talent is a great thing but talent coupled with higher learning is fundamental to a greater success.
The school which I attend is most likely known for the culinary institute which is housed there. Washburne Culinary Institute is the oldest culinary program in the country beginning in 1937. Many of Chicago's leading restauranteurs and chef instructors have graduated from this elite program. It is home to two great restaurants in Chicago - the Parrot Cage which is located at the Southshore Cultural Center and Golf Course (formally the Southshore Country Club) and Sikia located on 63rd and Halstead. The later restaurant is inspired by African and Caribean cuisine.
The school I will be attending only concentrates with the major that I want to do. So the attention from the instructors, financial aide and admissions personnel have more of an idea of what you need. You will also get more attention from the instructors.
I consider the intimate environment and smaller classes to be the best aspect of this undergraduate program. The smaller classes allow for a better ability to focus. Sometimes new college students may seem overwhelmed by the size of a larger campus and classrooms.
I haven't attended classes at this college yet, as I am in the middle of transferring there. So far I have nothing negative to say about the school. Everyone is very nice and helpful.
