It is a good school for the most part. People are pretty nice and the staff tries to be helpful, they hold interesting events and group things to do. I do not spend much time there except when I have class or need to go to the library. I do not stay on campus or near campus I live at home so I do not have the most experience on campus.

I really enjoy my time at Lehigh Carbon Community College. I am a nursing student and my professors were very helpful. The professors may be tough on you but you pass as long as you pay attention and do well on assignments. If you fail, it's because you aren't putting in effort. The school is very safe and I feel comfortable there. I 100% recommend Lehigh Carbon Community College to anyone looking for an affordable school.

Jada - 03/31/2020

Lehigh Carbon Community College (or LCCC) is a small community college, but it has grown in size and in opportunity over the years. Most of the professors I've met are nice and wonderful teachers. There are the occasional few that aren't exactly up to par, but that's to be expected at a community college. The inside of the school is clean and presentable. The outside is too for the most part, except for a few parts of the buildings. However, the board has been taking care of that this year and workers have been employed to fix it . Our film department needs a lot of work because it is so small and only one professor is in charge of it, but I'm still glad the college has the resources, and the equipment to their teach film students. The TV studio is expectedly small, but it received some new equipment and I still think it is a great learning tool for students. Slowly but surely, LCCC is making the necessary upgrades so the school can give the students the best education they possibly can. While LCCC doesn't compare to a 4-year university, I think it is a good place to start college education.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

As a student now recovering from substance abuse, I would tell myself to give myself a break. I was always a fan of instant gratification, and being a high school senior, I found my instant gratification by selling/doing drugs. I looked at college like it was a joke, I didn't care about my future. Today it's not about comparing myself to my fellow students and it's not about fitting in. It's about finding a place for myself and motivating myself to reach little goals that eventually help reach larger goals. It's about finding something you have a passion for and learning everything you possibly can in the process. Although I had to go through the darkness of substance abuse to find a career I'm passionate about, I had to go to that dark place to get to this one. Take it easy, work hard, and have fun doing what you love.

I wish that I would have known that homework is an important factor in the success of one's self. The first year, taught me without the repetition of the information, it is otherwise useless, at least for me. Unlike some students it takes me a while to comprehend various material.

  9. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

The most frustrating thing about LCCC would have to be getting a hold of people including teachers and administrative workers. Also a lot of people think that LCCC is an easy college because it is a community college but it is not that easy specially when you have a lot of science classes. I feel that they have to be hard than colleges because in order to transfer your credits must be equivalent to theirs.

  10. Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.

LCCC has a very diverse student body and I feel very comfortable as an older returning student. I have degrees in another field from nationally recognized universities. I find the quality of instruction at LCCC to be comparable to these universities but at a fraction of the cost. Because it is a small local school, I receive more personal attention. I am not another number in a field of 60,000 other students. Web-access is much more user friendly than other college sites I have used.
