LeTourneau University Top Questions

While LeTourneau University is a great school full of wonderful students and faculty, it fails to provide enough social activities for the students sometimes. We are not allowed to dance, and clubs that do not pertain to the predominant studies (engineering, aeronautics) often do not survive the school year.

The most frustrating thing about the schools are some of the rules. Some rules may have been needed in the past but could have easily been changed or removed to allow for a bit more freedom. One rule many students talk about is our no dancing rule. No, this rule was not influenced by the movie Footloose but was put implace as to reduce the amount of parties that happen. The school has good intetions but I feel they should find other ways to fulfill them.

The communication with the school has been frustrating. When you try to call someone with a question, you find that is not the right person, and they transfer you. You may be transferred several times and never really get an answer to your question.

The lack of variety in food service, and required chapel attendance.

There is almost no diversity at this school ethnically or socially. Everyone believes the same things. Someone different is looked down upon. You must absolutely believe in God, or you will not do well here.

Not being able to have access to the same amenities as a larger campus such as bigger kitchen, free ice and water, etc.

The money

The courses are somewhat difficult. The food is not great, but the school is working on a new facility.

Some of the courses are insanely hard. Without allowing you to have extra time to do assignments or maybe even making it 100xs more difficult then it should be

Its hard... you really have to be dedicated to doing well here but you get such a good education

Administration, especially the RDs and reslife director.

The price, with the salary of a teacher it will not be easy to pay off the loans I will attaine.
